I want to see in five years what becomes of these sanctuary cities like Tucson, Hartford, and Alexandria, VA (i already dont like what i'm seeing here.) When they have education problems, higher crime (already happening in Alexandria), and crunched budgets they will be an example of what will happen to a sanctuary city.

Tuscon is already there...........basically, if you are an American you do not count----------especially a blue collar tradesman.

I honestly suspect I could make the same if not more $$$ in Charleston, W Va. Plus; $150K house in Tuscon would cost about $50-60K in the former city. Charleston winters are worse but factoring the much lower cost of living, virtually no illegals as well as far fewer people-----------that city is looking better and better by the day.

The Patriot Act
. . all law enforcement and intelligence officers as determined by regulation to be responsible for investigation or identification of aliens admitted to the United States pursuant to a visa.

also,

Conspiracy to, or, aiding and abetting illegal aliens is a Federal Crime.
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/uscode08/usc_sup_01_8_10_12_20_II_30_VIII.html

Example problem : Municipality passes an ordinance, i.e., its residents no longer have to pay taxes. What is the opinion of the Federal Government via the IRS regarding not paying taxes?

You can see another problem that these people are trying to have it both ways. How can the Federal Government give funding to any State if it's not in compliance with Federal Law?

So do you just want to talk, or do something? Get the actual verbiage of the ordinance(s) in Tuscon. And we'll figure it out together if there's a violation of Federal Law, including The Patriot Act.

Not to mention, getting an opinion on this from the Governor of Arizona, might be in order.

I'm not a lawyer, just trying to figure this stuff out, but these safe harbor and sanctuary city ordinances sound like a stretch of the imagination, i.e., power percieved is power achieved. The individual, believing it's possible for them to do this, in fact, empowers them to do it.

My faith is pretty low at the moment.

What I hear is :
*) excuses for not upholding their oath of service.
*) endorsing criminal activity by acquience.

So called "illegals" have rights deal with it-

The correct English spelling is "so-called".

Refuted, they are not "so-called" illegals if they are aliens in the country illegally.

Tell you what, why don't you go look up all the rights illegal aliens have, and I'll keep doing what I'm doing. But for what it's worth, I am dealing with.

I'm learning how to arrest illegal aliens.
