Tucson becomes Sanctuary City
Oh boo hoo for the illegals. So mistreated! Everyone shed tears for the poor mistreated illegals.
Tucson chief revises illegal immigrant policy
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson's police chief is revising his department's policy on dealing with illegal immigrants officers encounter. Sgt. Fabian Pacheco says Chief Kermit Miller's new policy is designed to protect victims and witnesses while giving officers solid direction about when to call federal immigration agents. Victims, witnesses and people stopped for minor driving offenses will never be asked about their immigration status. Pacheco says the old policy allowed that and some victims ended up being deported.

If the 'right direction' is turning Tucson into a Third World cesspool.

You are too funny for words.
We may wind up owning Nuevo Leon, etc. very soon.
Mexico is weak and pathetic. Till it grows up; no one will take it seriously.

You have probably already been reported for trolling 10 times. Now you can make it 11. If you are going to make all sorts of claims like this you need to back it up. Because you said it is so is not a good enough reason. If you cannot provide any sort of justification for your claims that the gringo stole your land, etc. etc., etc. than you are adding nothing to the forum. It cannot even be said that you represent the opposing viewpoint because you do not appear to have a viewpoint. In all honesty, you would have been better off to keep quiet. You have given an excellent display of what it is we are up against and rather than trembling with fear, most of us are probably rolling on the floor laughing.
I will not waste any more time on you.

I'm researching The Patriot Act . . these sanctuary city or safe harbor ordinances might be void under Federal Law.
The Patriot Act
. . all law enforcement and intelligence officers as determined by regulation to be responsible for investigation or identification of aliens admitted to the United States pursuant to a visa.
also,
Conspiracy to, or, aiding and abetting illegal aliens is a Federal Crime.
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/uscode08/usc_sup_01_8_10_12_20_II_30_VIII.html
Example problem : Municipality passes an ordinance, i.e., its residents no longer have to pay taxes. What is the opinion of the Federal Government via the IRS regarding not paying taxes?
You can see another problem that these people are trying to have it both ways. How can the Federal Government give funding to any State if it's not in compliance with Federal Law?
So do you just want to talk, or do something? Get the actual verbiage of the ordinance(s) in Tuscon. And we'll figure it out together if there's a violation of Federal Law, including The Patriot Act.
Not to mention, getting an opinion on this from the Governor of Arizona, might be in order.
I'm not a lawyer, just trying to figure this stuff out, but these safe harbor and sanctuary city ordinances sound like a stretch of the imagination, i.e., power percieved is power achieved. The individual, believing it's possible for them to do this, in fact, empowers them to do it.
My faith is pretty low at the moment.
What I hear is :
*) excuses for not upholding their oath of service.
*) endorsing criminal activity by acquience.
