This is a year old, but worth listening to nevertheless. Elias Bermudez explains that if the U.S. wasn't enforcing its border laws, then Mexicans wouldn't feel the need to bring their entire families here because it is so dangerous to cross the border. And the poor little babies are then made to suffer overcrowded U.S. schools. It just goes and on ....

We've had several threads on the forum regarding the subject of "western guilt". It's a part of the complex human condition that anytime a 'guilt-prone' group is criticized by anyone incapable of such guilt, the first party will automatically accept the blame....and because the 'non-guilty' party is also pretty much immune from 'shame'. any such concession will result NOT in gratitude, but in demans for even MORE concessions. It's a textbook example of a cultural divide. What's 'OK' in one culture is NOT 'OK' in another...and that's that.

We (as Americans) tend to assume that 'kindness begets gratitude, and gratitude begets reciprocal kindness in return"...in other words, "You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours". This works, as long as both parties agree on that 'cultural parameter'. But not ALL cultures are like that. In some cultures, the message is "If you're dumb enough to scratch my back, then I'll expect you to scratch it FROM NOW ON" In THAT type of culture, kindness is not looked on as provoking gratitude, it's looked at as a sign of weakness, and provokes derision and disgust.

Cultures don't translate well. What works well in one culture is often misunderstood in another. It has nothing to do with 'bad' or 'good'...it's just a matter of 'different'.

The US is a society with lots of "western guilt". AS such, it's a simple matter to arouse our guilt, even in situations in which we're not guilty. Most other societies have no guilt, 'western' or otherwise; and, as a result, these societies can't be made to accept any blame for what they do, or don't do.

the USA is wrong in not providing clean and safe crossing areas and by not doing so add to the danger of children and pregnant women who are trying to come for better life .

Better yet:

How about us building a 'Berlin Wall' style of fortifications to keep the illegal Mexicans, etc. out of the USA?

Maybe if the rich Mexicans (Carlos Slim comes to mind) shared some of their wealth with the peons...........they would prefer to stay in Mexico.

Hear, hear! ITA. It never ceases to amaze me that millions of mexican nomads have so much pride in a country whose oligarchies control all of the wealth, could care less if they lived or died.

As a matter of fact they are panicking as we speak at the idea of the US repatriating their poverty stricken, abundantly breeding masses.

We can only hope that those who are deported will grow a pair and stand up and demand rights in the homeland they love so dear.

Blacknight and the other open borders advocates have some competition. This new open borders nut is even more vocal than they are about Mexico having unlimited rights to do as it pleases with the USA.
