i don't think this was a bad idea. why is this so very offensive.
foreign language is a snap for children. it gets harder as you get older.
i am sorry this sounds very much like pride.
as a work force americans really need some adjustments to be competitive.
let us start with attitude and then work up to language skills.

Cartoonish? There is nothing remotely amusing about an illegal mestizo sow who comes here and runs up $2.2 million in medical bills to cover 3 liver transplants, follow up care, the cost of immunosuppressive drugs, etc. It simply is not funny. Save your guffaws for when one of your parents is in unstable condition following a heart attack and the nearest available ER that can accept a patient is 45 minutes away because the local ERs have been forced to close their doors due to financial losses from illegals.

Are you telling me what I said?
Good to know you know more about myself than I do.
Do I wanna work out right now, or should I say screw it and grab a burrito before heading to my girlfriends house?
I called BS on the incident. I think she's full of it, and made up a story to support your theory on the attitude of the illegals towards using ER.
I don't think they come here PLANNING on ending up in ER. Its not like they sit there laughing to themselves thinking "suck it, America!".

Agreed. I dont think the Spanish language should even be connected to the illegal immigration debate to begin with.
Nobody's being forced to speak it, and so called "anchor babies" are still speaking English.
Its just another European language. People get offended at the mere suggestion of learning Spanish.
But they have no problem with French or Italian.

Let's see..
1. "They're forcing Spanish upon us"
2. Xenophobia?
You be the judge.
Now unless there is some kind of flu that kills only Hispanics, what we consider people of color will be the majority of the United States by the year 2042. It is also projected that the number of multi-racial people is going to double, maybe even triple. There is no going back from here.

Yeah, while I dont necessarily think ALL arguments against illegal immigration are xenophobic, I think the Spanish issue to an extent is. Their are plenty of valid points, but I dont see the big deal over people speaking Spanish in the United States. They really believe Latino culture is going to take over, which I dont think it will. At least not by "force".
I mean, "reconquista"? Are they kidding me?
This coming from a 2nd generation Mexican-American who WISHES he could speak better Spanish.

Of course they 'plan' on ending up in the ER. They know they must be seen under the coercive EMTALA. Once they are in that ER they are golden. If they need to be admitted to the hospital they will be. Totally irrespective of immigration status or ability to pay. My husband and I have alot more experience with illegal aliens taking full advantage of the American healthcare system than you do. Good Lord, you think they don't come to this country knowing they have expensive medical problems and head for the nearest ER knowing that we will have to take care of them? A dialysis unit in Atlanta was forced to close because they had so many illegal alien renal failure patients who had specifically crossed the border to get dialysis in the US (at a cost of $65,000 a year). I could go on for hours. But why bother? You can think whatever you want.

Hmm.. Mexicans are coming for healthcare over here and Americans are going for healthcare in Mexico. That's what it looks like. "Those American citizens should be ashamed, they are undercutting American doctors and American pharmacists, SHAME ON THEMSELVES!!!"

The Americans who go to Mexico for healthcare pay their bills.

americans get into the pride & status thing about french. it has no basis.
the most ignorant people that work the streets of pigalle in paris speak fluent french (i am no stranger to pigalle). 14% of americans speak spanish. let us move forward dear countrymen let us move forward.
