Following your line of reasoning: George Romney; the former governor of Michigan was a Mexican (he was born there while his parents resided in Chihuahua) hence Mitt Romenty (his son) would be a Chicano.
EDIT:
Well, he isn't really of Mexican descent now is he?

Does George Romney identify as being a Mexican?
George was as 'Mexican' as Vicente Fox. The latter man has no indigenous heritage at all. His paternal grandfather hailed from the USA (not sure about his paternal grandmother's heritage admittedly) and the mother was a Spaniard.

Oh so he's Mexican?
I dont know if youre saying he happened to be born in Mexico, while his parents were doing diplomacy stuff, or if his family is actually from Mexico?
If his family identified as Mexicans instead of Americans in Mexico, then yes, his son is Chicano.

Do you have a problem with the term Chicano too?
I think some of his immediate family identify as being Mexican. Jeb's wife is Mexican as wel las George Bush's sobrinos.
