Did you ever stop to do the math? Ten illegal aliens with $250,000 in medical bills equals $25,000,000 coming out of the already overburdened middle class pockets. How many illegal aliens in this country are abusing the U.S. healthcare system? I guarantee you it's a lot more than ten.

There is nothing wrong with sending this guy home to be placed in a long-term health facility. He isn't going to recover. He's in a persistent vegetative coma. Why should Americans continue to pick up the bill? His family certainly isn't doing so. Mexico has some excellent doctors. I'm sure that he'll receive good care.
He has already stated in another thread that he enjoys spending other people's money and has no qualms about doing so to advance the plight of his "brethren".

The "arrogance of these parasites"?

There must be a lump of coal where your heart should be.
Here we have a guy who has been living in the US illegally for 11 years and has no health insurance. He suffers a brain hemorrhage and is admitted to one of the top hospitals in the Chicago area. He receives $250,000 worth of medical care that will never be paid for. As mentioned previously he in a coma, a persistent vegetative state. In all likelihood, he will remain in the condition he is in now for the rest of his life. Medically, he no longer needs to be in a hospital, he needs to go to a nursing home for long term care.
He is not eligible for Medicaid and he has no money of his own that could be used to pay the bills. A nursing home will not accept him. People on the forum who have had to place a relative or loved one in a nursing home are not doubt well aware of all this. A nursing home will not accept an American citizen who has lived and worked in the US all their life without any way to pay for their care, I can think of no reason why the rules should be rewritten to make exceptions for illegal aliens who cannot pay the bill.
The bottom line is that he needs to be returned to Mexico, the country that he is a citizen of, for further care. I doubt there is anything that is being done for him here that cannot be done there. He needs good, basic nursing care at this point and that can be provided anywhere. A comatose patient needs to receive good skin care, needs to be turned and repositioned every few hours, needs to have his lungs kept clear of secretions, needs to receive tube feedings, needs to have heart rate, breathing rate, temperature and BP checked to catch any sign or infection of other problem early and so on. He does not need to stay in the US for that. Home care in Mexico would also be an option. A nursing assistant available around the clock and a generator to power a portable suction machine to clear his airway when needed would enable his relatives to directly participate in his care.
The antics of his relatives (who may very well be illegals, too) should simply be ignored. We have already done more than enough. Certainly far more than Mexico would have done for an American in their country illegally in a similar situation. We have already spent $250,000 on this patient. The chances are real good that UIC will never see a dime of that money from them. What they want is for us to foot his medical bills indefinitely. Don't forget the patient is a young man. He has a severe brain injury, but with the rest of his organs in relatively good shape, he could live for a long time. It is not unrealistic to say the total bill for his long term care could be very high.

Now, since you have made your 'lump of coal' comment, why don't you tell us misguided individuals what you think should be done. Put your cards on the table.

If his sister and cousin are not going to pay for his treatments, then the hospital has every right to send him back to mexico.
