Its not so much the debate, its the frequent name calling. pro-illegal bigots e.t.c. "How dare they advocate for these criminals to live in our country, they're not Americans!"

Yup, the argument got stale. They didn't leave because they lost, its because some of the people on here just aren't worth arguing.

What also made the debating stale is the frequent posting of "illegal kills this or illegal rapes". I mean, yes it happens and its very unfortunate. my heart goes out to the families of the victems. But there is no debate, the last post usually looks like: "HAMMER TIME!"

You're quite correct...there are a fair number of these "illegal does xxxxxxx" sensational articles....they serve no purpose, IMHO, except to 'inflame', and I've seldom, if ever, responded to them.

However, in all honesty, you have to ask yourself, 'why is there even a 'DEBATE' at all, over this issue?'. Illegal immigration is a violation of the law..no one seriously argues this point...and it's technically a 'crime', albeit a minor one. It's 'participants' (the illegals) are living in violation of the law. It speaks well of our compassion as a society, I think, that we're willing to 'debate' it at ALL. No one 'debates' petty theft, or tax evasion, or running a business without a license...these things are just "wrong", and nobody pretends otherwise.

You can be 'nice', you can be compassionate, and you can be decent...AND MOST OF US ARE. But at some point, you don't 'debate' lawbreaking...you STOP it. Trying to endlessly 'debate' the issue satisfies NO ONE..all it does is cause more resentment and a false sense of entitlement.

True, true, true! You simply cannot ‘logically’ defend the indefensible. Sooner or later you are forced to wave the white flag; which is precisely what was done. Unless those sympathetic to illegal aliens ‘debate’ in a closed forum such as the DREAM Act Portal, where opposing posters are promptly banned, they will encounter the same wherever they go.
