Perhaps this “fear” will convince others to pack their bags, and return to their countries of origin. They are being treated as "criminals" because that is precisely what they are.
Quote:
Those detained were from Brazil, El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and Peru, said Barbara Gonzalez, an ICE spokeswoman.
"We have kids without dads and pregnant mothers who got their husbands taken away," said Velez's son, Robert, youth pastor at the church. "It was like a horror story. They got handled like they were criminals."
Under the law, a company found guilty of employing illegal immigrants could lose public contracts for three years and the right to do business in Mississippi for a year.

I am actually more angry at the employers. None of the money saved by employing cheaper labor is passed on to the consumers. The tax payers get the shaft to pay for services not covered by employers. All this is intentional and they get away with it. The employers could care less about the illegal labor they employ.

BINGO. And the employers should be the ones held responsible for the mess they have created. Put them out of business! Shut them down!
Everyone keeps saying - well that will mean goods will cost us more. So? If it does, it does. Maybe we all need to be more conservative w/ our consumerism. The truth is - the owners of these businesses are making more money b/c of their heinous business practices. So they make less money if they have to hire Americans. Do I care? Heck no. And do I care if it costs me $.50 more for a pound of bacon, chicken, beef? No. I do not. I will just eat less meat.
I'd rather pay more for my goods--in which I can pick and choose what I buy--than pay out the nose in taxes to pay for the welfare and health care that illegal aliens obtain from me.
