Hispanic or Latino are not racial terms. There are Hispanics and Latinos who are as black as the darkest African Americans (or Africans), for one example.

And there is NOTHING wrong with Mexican culture. And you yourself can't really comment on it, because you used Tijuana to judge the whole country.
Middle Class Latinos are closer culturally to Middle Class anybody else than to the campesinos in most regards--------and, I have no problem with the former

I used to know an Anglo family back east whose paternal grandmother was from Mexico and, judging by the father, was either Indian or Mestizo. His four daughters all looked 'Latina' but the family had a Scots-Irish surname, were Presbyterians, did not speak Spanish and did not know what Mexican food was.

I call BS. Even the Klansmen are known to steer away from Mexican food.

Remember we are discussing Arlington, Va. (outside of Wash DC) of 35 years ago: there were few 'Hispanics' there (they were lumped in with Anglo Whites unless really dark skinned) and genuine Mexican people were extremely rare hence few Mx restaurants.

Truth be known: the first time that I even ate Mexican food was in California in the late 1970's.
