Well, you and your illegal friends HAVE accomplished alot in your goal of turning the US into a 3rd world country. But there is still more to be done and you musn't rest on your laurels. Thanks, but I think I'll pass on applying for your position.

My english is not great but would that not be called
hypocrisy... you know you say something but you do
another thing or something. Yes, I'm pretty sure you
are a hypocrite. Or is it a bigot.. I forget Senora but you
know what I mean.

Why not keep it simple and just call me both?

I'll get you yet, my pretty..... la Quinta may own the motel chain for all we know. If you have read any of her posts, you would know that she is a US citizen. You are judging her based on her surname, which wasn't even her birth name.

A co-worker of mine was hurt by someone telling her to go back to Mexico and other words that I won't use here. In reality, she is fully documented and devotes her life to helping at-risk teens. This is America- the melting pot. It is what made us strong. It is because of our diversity that we can see the big picture.

I'm not defending illegal aliens. I bet we would both agree that it would be better if everyone was a taxpaying contributor to our society. But snap judgements about a person's status is just wrong and hurtful. I'm sure that la Quinta can speak for herself and can handle it with her usual sense of humor, but my co-worker was brought to tears just retelling the experience.

We should debate issues, not attack individuals.

It's actually the name of the beautiful tourist city I live in.
It's near Palm Springs and has tournaments with Tiger
woods etc. I've actually met quite a few stars ( I worked at
a very nice hotel as a desk clerk in Palm Springs as a teen and even got to dance
with Lawrence Welk for a few seconds...if you are old enough to know
who he was!! haha) And recently I was out to eat and sat
next to the gal who played on Dallas.. Sue Ellen .. jr's wife.
Can't think of her name right now. But anyway, I think
because I've lived in California all my life and it is a big melting
pot, that I'm accepting of all people. I don't know where these
people who post live..(I've lived in good and bad (Palmdale being the bad.. haha)
or what types of illegals they are around.
Bad area's are bad area's... and criminals come in all shapes, colors
and nationalities. This whole area is filled with hard working hispanics...
legal and illegal. I hate to see people hate all illegals when the majority
are hard working, law abiding ( YES andreabeth they broke the law
crossing the freaking border) people. Yes, we need to control the
problem. The Government needs to stop ignoring the problem and
get it under control. But lets not all turn bitter and judge everyone
by a few bad apples. People focus on how much money we pay for
their benefits. Well, how much do they save us when they work
for such low wages. How much money do they pump in the economy
while they are here? I can tell you by shopping at Walmart alone...
alot!!! But those figures will never be mentioned because people
who have agenda's always focus on what helps their agenda.

People who truly believe that we could do without migrant labor are just clueless. I think many must live in lower income areas and so their experience includes the dregs of all colors and nationalities, in addition to the poor. They tend to be the have-nots and resent anyone that they consider a threat. It is easier to consider oneself a victim than look inward and see one's own inferiority.

My husband was a produce broker and in the summer we'd go to TN and do some of our own deals. 15+ years ago when we had three men in the backseat taking them to a packing shed to help save our rear on a load of pumpkins that had been kicked back for being dirty, so we had to wash 2800 flippin punkins. Ever scrubbed a pumpkin in a trash can of bleach water?

Anyway, as we were driving to our shed, a major tomatoe grower pulled up. My husband was salivating to get his tomatoes to sell. When the guy looked in the back and said, "Oh, I see you have a car full of wet backs." My husband wouldn't even look at me, because he knew that I would say something. I'm sure that he was praying, "Please not now, not this time"!! I was very pleasant, though. I only corrected the farmer.- "No, we have a car full of workers."

He still got the farmer's precious tomatoes and we never had any trouble pulling up to the camp and getting a car full of workers, even when there were local farmers ahead of us begging for help. Funny how that works. Treat people like...people... and they treat you like.. people!
