I have heard from people who work in the manufacturing industry that they fear shortages of good hard workers if ICE really starts to enforce immigration laws.
The general feeling is that after an immigration raid, the quality of the new workers taking the place of the fired illegal alien workers, is poor. Most do not work as hard and are more likely to call in sick and leave after a few weeks when they realize how hard the work is at these jobs.
Do you believe that in factories, the new American born legal employees are as good of workers as the old Illegal Alien Hispanics?
Are they having trouble finding 'good, hard workers' or workers who will work for crap, no benefits and will work in unsafe environments working more hours then osha allows?
The answer to the first is 'no'.
The answer to the second is 'yes'.

To be honest: if anything; the illegal immigrant workers tend to be worse than US citizen/greed card holders.......many of the former do just enough to get by.
Since the beginning of America's Industrial Revolution, most workers in industry have been Americans or others legally able to work in the U.S. So basically what you have is America's industries prospering using American workers since the beginning of the nineteenth century.
Now, in order to line their pockets, while continuing to withhold the savings from the American people, factories either move out of the country to take advantage of cheap, foreign labor, or they import their own cheap, foreign (illegal) labor. Adios American worker, hello indentured servants.
Can they continue to use the same pay scale with American workers that they do for cheap, foreign (illegal) workers and attract employees with any sort of work ethic? Nope. Can they pay a decent wage and get a decent day's work from American workers? Most certainly.
