Border fence nearly finished: After millions spent, opinions on barricade remain mixed - El Paso Times

That quote in the article about comparing the fence to the Berlin Wall is offensive.

Neither the West German or the East German people wanted that wall.................

Flip side: most Americans do want the flow of illegals and drugs at least seriously slowed down from Mexico to the USA.

If Mx complains: too bad.

Another Hispanic nation (Spain) has a fence on its territory in northern Africa and apparently; the illegals trying to access Spain are extremely upset.

Even the really ignorant must realize that the Berlin wall was built to keep East German citizens from escaping to the West, to keep them prisoners in their own country. On the other hand American citizens and legal visitors are able to pass freely back and forth across the Mexican border fence. On the other hand, the Mexican border fence was built, of course, to keep the hordes of illegal trespassers from breaking in. The Mexican border fence can't keep every illegal invader from breaking in, especially since the original double layer fence design with the 2 lane highway down the middle was gutted/watered down by betrayers, but if we are able to slow the stampedes down to a trickle, it will be well forth building it.
