Hispanic influenced western is how I would classify it. What it is -- musicians constantly borrow but it has to be a music style that they like or the listeners like. Especially in the past, Mexico has had some great musicians and so did Spain. Spanish guitar for example -- it doesn't require massive immigration from Spain to the USA for people here to appreciate good music.
American music has been influenced in one way or another by "hispanics" long before immigration was an issue, back before there were many foreign hispanics living here. The reverse is also true, American music influences the music of Mexico.
You realize the difference between Mexican and Chicano culture right?
And all those videos were OF Black people going for Hispanic, haha.
Trust me, out in LA, Mexican-Americans had a lot of influence on West Coast hip hop culture.
As as far as "Hispanics going for rap and hip hop", Hip Hop culture was partially created by Latinos along with Blacks and Jamaicans.
Im not sure you know too much about what youre talking about here.
Even the Chicanos in America have a different culture as Americans. Its not that they're not American, theyre just a different flavor of American. And that still bothers people. Like, I dont want to sound cliche, but people arent really accepted in certain circles as being "American" until they act..well, white. Then, they are fully assimilated.
act white, i guess white people in mexico, or meztizos are too mexican than the natives who are mostly isolated
jamaica got its independence from britain as a black nation. everybody else is immigrants though they are jamaican too
theres jamaicans and then there are east indian(india)-jamaicans etc etc and mixes in between
