They seem to forget the term Americans has a wide range of nationalities, including immigrants from all over the world. Of course, I have Native American friends who just roll their eyes and say they have the true language of the land. Can't argue with that.

Oh they said that ?

Well, you tell them "it's on now" and we will "out breed" them.

Let's see now who has to learn what.

It's not just immigrants here that don't speak English . It's citizens who have been here decades and legal residents.

People have a right to speak what they want on 'their time" non work time but here even at work English is not needed (Doral /S.Florida) and you might get fired if you speak it as it's "rude".
Is Florida a part of the USA still?

I was at Miami airport and Ft. Lauderdale airport on Saturday last week and I thought I was in a foreign country. Even the bank atm at Miami airport is by Banco Popular.

Frankly, my dd loves Dora the Explorer. She, and my son, also love Dragon Tales on PBS. I'd let them watch these shows, with the spanish, any day over crap like Sponge Bob, who talks about poop on his show, and Sponge Bob is on ALL the time.

I wouldn't worry about Spanish cartoons. If we were in Europe, we'd be getting tv from all over.

It is not a big deal. Children pick up languages better at young ages. I would like to see more cultural/foreign language childrens shows on the air, like French or Chinese or Arabic or Russian. Not only Spanish, but several.

Don't you think that the little Spanish girls here could use someone to look up to? And fyi, these shows are all 90% English.

To the person who mentioned spanish being on products at the grocery store, have you ever seen a food package from abroad? With 6-10 languages on it?

According to some people, more than one culture being present in this country will lead to the destruction of the nation. lol
