How in the hell does MEChA square Che Guevera with its Indian supremacy crap? Che was a White man of partial Irish heritage.
Not to try and speak for MeCha or anything, but I would think that they would respect him as a rich man who could have had a privileged life, but instead fought for the indigenous people of South America and people in Africa.

Che Guevara was an international terrorist and mass murderer.

Che was a totalitarian. He achieved nothing but disaster. Many of the early leaders of the Cuban Revolution favored a democratic or democratic-socialist direction for the new Cuba. But Che was a mainstay of the hardline pro-Soviet faction, and his faction won. Che presided over the Cuban Revolution's first firing squads. During his vicious campaigns to impose communism on countries throughout Latin America, che Guevara trained and motivated the Castro regime's firing squads that executed thousands of men, women and children. He founded Cuba's "labor camp" system—the system that was eventually employed to incarcerate gays, dissidents, and AIDS victims.

Guevara was for state capitalism. He opposed the wage labor system of appropriating surplus value (in Marxist jargon) only when it came to private corporations. But he turned the appropriation of the workers surplus value into a state system. One example of this is the forced labor camps he supported, starting with Guanahacabibes in 1961.
He engineered the colonization of Cuba by a foreign power. He was instrumental in turning Cuba into a temporary beachhead of Soviet nuclear power (he sealed the deal in Yalta). As the person responsible for the industrialization of Cuba he failed to end the country's dependency on sugar.
With the exception of Cuba, every guerrilla effort he helped set up failed pitifully. After the triumph of the Cuban revolution, Guevara set up revolutionary armies in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Panama, and Haiti, all of which were crushed. He later persuaded Jorge Ricardo Masetti to lead a fatal incursion into that country from Bolivia. Guevara's role in the Congo in 1965 was both tragic and comical. He allied himself with Pierre Mulele and Laurent Kabila, two butchers, but got entangled in so many disagreements with the latter and relations between Cuban and Congolese fighters were so strained that he had to flee. Finally, his incursion in Bolivia ended up in his death.
His so-called "adventures" were an orgy of death. He executed many innocent people in Santa Clara, in central Cuba, where his column was based in the last stage of the armed struggle. After the triumph of the revolution, he was in charge of "La Caba" prison for half a year. He ordered the execution of hundreds of prisoners, former Batista men, journalists, businessmen, and others. A few witnesses, including Javier Arzuaga, who was the chaplain of La Caba, and Jose Vilasuso, who was a member of the body in charge of the summary judicial process, recently gave their painful testimonies.
Che Guevara a freedom fighter? Mass murdering dictator is more like it. The fact that people continue to glorify this butcher simply shows their own ignorance of history. When I see somebody in a Che shirt, I have to wonder at their appalling lack of knowledge or education. How can anyone remain so unenlightened and oblivious to a chapter in history which occured a mere 40 years ago?

Were it not for photographer Alberto Korda's fabulous treasure of an astounding photojournalistic moment, I believe Guevara might still be relegated to similar status of Castro and Stalin, only well thought of by die-hard Cold War communists and their vestigial areas of influence, not today's global young who lack their own era's emblems.
Never underestimate the power of true genius in the arts. Korda's iconic photo of Guevara took a photographer with the confidence to snap an untraditional moment, and then crop it for further visual importance. Here's what lost without context: this was very long hair for 1960, signifying personal sacrifice. Only six years later, that selfsame long hair would endear this image to similarly longhaired hippies of the leftist-most bent, and the iconic image was off and running forever.
One photographer's amazing command of his craft is, I think as a fellow photographer, the major reason for the continuing deification of a committed but violent politico-soldier. And just the image can so endure. Adolf Hitler, as a former visual artist, knew a thing or two about the power of graphic art as well with the ancient Indian symbol of the swastika.
Irony: as truly befitting for communists, photographer Korda never made any money at all from his historic photograph of Guevara, which I as an artist in non-communist country, genuinely regret for him.
