The fact that a couple of these institutions supplied "undocumented" mortgage loans that we will be forced to pay for with our tax dollars is just astounding.
ahhhh the conspiracies. now the illegals are to blame for the housing crisis...

They may not be solely responsible, but they certainly are a factor. Have you ever heard of the NINJA mortgage loans (No Income, No Job or Assets) illegals were given? Greed!

NINJA loans were not the big problem. it was sub prime mess and the adjustable rates and such.

the greed was evidenced by the large mortgage companies making money.
it wasnt the people. it was the companies. the people just wanted a piece of the "american" dream. they are to blame also, but really its the greedy greedy corps.

blaming the illegals is misguided here. very misguided. the real culprits are the lenders.
but now the GOV't is helping them out. which isnt a suprise. they were real quick to do that. but pretty slow to help out homeowners in trouble.

its the way of the US.

They have certainly had a part in the play. AZ has a huge "no doc" loan crisis. I don't think JDubsmom was putting the full blame on illegals, but they did purchase quite a chunk of real estate here and then walked.

I wasn't blaming illegals; I was blaming the greedy mortgage companies who gave them the loans. If you research it, you will discover that the NINJA loans have in fact contributed to this mortgage crisis. How could they not?

Agreed. It was the greed, corruption and arrogant sense of entitlement to all things American, simply because they crawled through a hole in the fence of America.

Their culturally embedded corruption coupled with corruption of the slime of corporate America played a huge part in the collapse of the housing market.

The rest can be attributed to the stupidity of Americans who are guilty of biting off more than they could chew.

oooooohhhhhh, ok then. yes we are on the same page.
when you meant greed you referred to the corps. that was unclear.

i agree it was the greedy corps too. its funny how so many companies that got bailed out by the gov't still managed to turn a profit of hundreds of millions for their CEO's. well not so much funny as it is appalling.

i guess we are all culturally imbedded with corruption because we have greedy gov'ts and corporations running the show, huh?

American corruption seems to be embedded within the corporate sphere. Every day Americans are STILL for the most part kind, giving and trustworthy. We also take great offense at the misdeeds of the elite, even though our government has more of a 'wink and a nod' attitude.

Folks SOB wink and nod so much you'd think they had a nervous tic...
