Evacuation is a tough thing to do. Its not FEMA's job to look into who is illegal or not.

The town police don't have time for this nor do they now want to start arresting and putting people in jail when the priority is to get out of the area.

It's just unreasonable in a time of urgency to get caught up in looking for illegals . The urgency to get people out of harm's way is dire .

This is a tough one. Kind of like war where you kind of all run for your lives.

Once again, if Illegals weren't costing us so much money to maintain it would be a LOT easier to put up with their presence.

I agree. But on the way BACK, I hope they round up everyone of them and deport them to their home country.

So police and FEMA among other's who are on borrowed time and need to evacuate are going to spend time enaged in illegal or not illegal?

The police themselves want to get out they are on short man power they need to get disabled, elderly and countless out of the area.

Illegal or not illegal is not a luxury they can get into . They don't have time to look up ID's run it through they need to evacuate the masses.

I didn't say that FEMA should be there arresting for that purpose. If they come across someone who is not here legally, it is their obligation to uphold the law.
Illegal vs. Legal, a luxury? It is a, earned privilege to live in the US not a right. You realize that we are paying for these people to commit illegal activity??

Make sure they are safe and in a govt shelter then and only then ask questions, check IDs, and round them up.

So after rescuing a bunch of people from a natural disaster, you have a bunch of people shaken up from losing their home or almost losing their lives.
So you single out the Latino looking ones, and question them on their citizenship?
Not the time or the place.

More proof big business will do anything to keep their cheap labor even if it means loss of life

The survivors of hurricane Andrew and the rest of the American people were betrayed by their own government. But the betrayal also extended to foreign nationals. At the time Andrew struck, South Dade was inhabited by a large population of Mexican illegal immigrants. The United States Department of Immigration was fully aware of their presence but quietly turned its back on the situation, knowing full well that South Dade farmers couldn't afford to harvest their crops without the help of the Mexican illegals. The heavily populated migrant camps were situated at the edge of the Florida Everglades. The people who lived there vanished without a trace during that fated night. Many bodies were found way out in the Everglades.
