Use of internet lingo like the ones you mentioned isn't acceptable in formal writing. But its perfectly appropiate for texting or internet message boards, because its not a formal setting.

Texting and message boards are very informal, and you just type quickly, not long thought out paragraphs and articles.

for admin, its much cheaper & easier to fire & jail a cop than fight a law suit for personal injury.

Chuck Baldwin is running for president and I am voting for him.
He is the ONLY candidate that said he would get them out of there as soon as he is elected.

You'd pick a presidential candidate based on this one case, where its not even clear whether or not they were even innocent?

Are you even aware of the charge that keeps Ramos and Compean in prison? It has never been used against a law enforcement officer during any sort of prosecution.

The charge which landed them in prison for 10 years is "the use of a gun during the commission of a crime."

They were not robbing a bank. They were not hijacking a car. They were chasing drug smugglers on the California/Mexico border. Aldrete physically attacked Compean. That is in the transcripts. And this innocent drug dealer has been caught twice since doing exactly the same thing. He's now in prison himself. How anyone can even continue to believe that Ramos and Compean are guilty of the commission of any sort of crime is unbelievable.

When it becomes a punishable offense for a law enforcement officer to protect themselves from criminals, fewer and fewer of these brave souls will step up for the job.

All the anti illegals have this feeling that these guys are 100 percent innocent.

Yet according to a friend in the Border Patrol, the feeling isnt as widespread among the BP Agents..at least in the SD area.

And what transcripts are you talking about? The transcripts of their testimony?

Trial transcripts--their testimonies as well as the testimonies of several other BP agents who were on the scene.

As for your assertion of non-support by fellow Border Patrol agents:

Quote:
Citing the case of imprisoned former agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean among other complaints, all 100 top leaders of the National Border Patrol Council have endorsed a no-confidence resolution against Chief David V. Aguilar.

The union, which represents 11,000 of the U.S. Border Patrol's nonsupervisory field agents, pointed to Aguilar's willingness to believe the "perjured allegations" of criminal aliens over his own agents, in a statement issued today, first reported by the Washington Times.

Ramos and Compean are among a number of agents who recently have been prosecuted on civil rights grounds for their actions in the arrests of illegal aliens and drug-smuggling suspects.

"Front-line Border Patrol agents who risk their lives protecting our borders have every reason to expect that the leadership of their own agency will support them," NBPC President T.J. Bonner said in the statement. "When this does not occur, and instead they are undermined by their so-called leaders, no one should be surprised when they express a loss of confidence in those managers."

The NBPC leadership, mostly active senior agents, cast the no-confidence vote at a recent meeting in Corpus Christi, Texas.

You go ahead and post your articles, but the people Ive talked to say it was a cover up. They screwed up, didnt make the report like they were supposed to. It couldve all been avoided if they had done what they were supposed to.

Even if they had killed the guy, if they wouldve done what they were supposed to after, they wouldnt have been in this mess.

Of course theyre going to look out for their own, but the guys screwed up.

Im curious why the anti-illegal crowd took to this case so fast. So determined these guys were innocent. Its like people got angry that people were going to jail for shooting at an illegal, so these people HAD to be innocent.

You're going to believe what you want to believe regardless and you are entitled to your opinion. I believe that the only cover-up was facilitated by Johnny Sutton. Your opinion just doesn't really carry much water with me.
