Default McCain on Univision: He Will Work for Amnesty Starting “The First Day”

I think it means that we go through a step by step process of allowing people to apply and achieve citizenship in this country, of course. But, I want to point out again; it’s a little more complicated.

It goes against the platform of your party, by the way, because they are against the legalization of millions of undocumented immigrants.

My position is very clear, and that was part of our proposal, that I took up twice. By the way, Senator Obama tried to kill it, because he proposed an amendment that would have done away with any temporary worker program. So, there is a huge difference there. So, what we need to do is take the two million according to (Michael) Chertoff, that have broken laws in our country, and deport or imprison them. They are law breakers. Other people who have come here and have been here for a period of time and are law abiding citizens and are willing to go through a certain process, of course, there are not twelve million pairs of handcuffs in America.

So, we can together, republicans and democrats, work out this issue, provide a path to citizenship, on the principle that they do not take any priority over anyone who came to this country legally, or waited legally. And, of course they should pay a fine, because they acted illegally. But, our heritage, the heritage of this country, is people who have come to this country for a better life, and as I said at the Convention, these are God’s children and it will be done in a humane and compassionate fashion.

Wow, let me get this straight: The non dementia challenged side of his brain seems fully aware that those here illegally are illegal alien criminals whose initial crime is breaking and entering.

The political side of his brain and mouth seems to think and espouse that those who have been here illegally for a period of time are now citizens by virtue of skirting the laws for a number of years.

Wow . . just wow.

Unless my memory fails me, Jorge Bush tried this not too long ago. And failed miserably.

Agreed. What angers me is the perpetual pandering and lying as if those here illegally deserve to be rewarded for successfully eluding border patrol. Until the mixed signals stop and the laws are uniformly enforced, American lives will continue to be snuffed out.

The tax dollars squandered in this game of cat and mouse will continue to diminish the tax dollars that should be used in revitalizing our economy.

It will indeed be a huge problem if Obama gets elected. In many ways, the economic recession is a blessing in disguise. The sheeple are beginning to realize that every tax dollar spent on housing, arresting, deporting, jailing, educating and directly funding illegal aliens and their criminal presence is money that should be spent on America and Americans.

Exactly why it is that I can't vote for either party, along with the fact that there isn't much difference between them. I am looking at Bob Barr.

If Obama gets the nod: he will be on the horns of a dilemma; will he support the 'Hispanic' community (too many of whom seem to be in favor of amnesty for illegals) or our Black people?

I think that he will support the illegal alien lobby. Afterall the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons of the world- who are the "so-called" black leadership are for amnesty-even though we know they certainly do not speak for the majority of black Americans. I would think that Obama and McCain for that matter would be more inclined to listen to Sharpton, LaRaza, and any other special interst groups with pull instead of your average black, white, yellow, red or brown American. Afterall-they are politicians.

Point taken.

Although the economy may be the 900 lb gorilla here--------if it tanks much more the anger against illegals may wind up 'crossing the line'.

The irony is that our safety valve is the fact that about 1 million illegals have fled the USA..........helping to bleed off the anger here----------for now.

I know Azbear-you have been talking about the economy and it's relation to the illegals going home for a while now and I do believe that you are right. I think that if McCain or Obama tried amnesty shortly after getting into office with the economy the way it is now-they will be in for a rude awakening from even more angry Americans than the last amnesty attempts.
