Just b/c they give it to you dont mean you have to take it. If he wasnt okay with the payments he should not have taken the mortgage.

Lets see:

He makes $9 an hour, or $18,720 per year.

You make more than that every three seconds. Lets say its $18,721 every 3 seconds. That works out to $374,420 per minute, or $22,465,200 per hour, or an amazing $4.67x10^10 per year! Over $46 billion a year and you can't get a mortgage? I think you better check your credit report for errors!

Really? based on $9/hr & 2080 hrs/yr, Aviles annual pre-tax would be approx $18.8K, Taxed at assuming 30% basis, post tax annual earnings would be $13K.

So you are making $13K every 3 seconds? wow I need to figure out to get into your line of work. You must be topping $15.7 million/hr == Translates to $32 billion/Yr....

MOVE OVER BUFFET, SIM, GATES, MITTAL, AMBANIS etal

I catch your drift.

In all fairness: a person making $9 an hour for a 40 hr week is not taxed at 30%...........more like 15%.

To get back to the real point versus snarky comments, many many people make 5 times more money than this person and can't qualify for this mortgage. The fact is, no one should be purchasing a home more than 3-4 times their salary.

Absolutely! Clearly, this man did not qualify in any way, shape, or form.

The law suit netted him just under 6 million dollars and he has purchased 8 additional properties and now houses 96 illegal families. Oh and he finally got the couch of his dreams a lazy boy reclining couch with center refridgerated console.
Could you please give a link or a citation to this follow-up story? I cant seem to find anything about it online.

Thanks!
