If I'm not mistaken it is a federal crime to lie on a mortgage application!!!!
It certainly is. However, illegals don't worry about such mundane issues as violating federal law. Identity theft and document forgery are also federal crimes. Oh well.......

No, Not .. just..Oh Well. I want something done about this!!!!!!!!
Just to add fuel to fire, how about illegals getting a mortgage, then refinancing and taking cash out? Not only leaving everyone high and dry, but extracting cash to take back. It has happened, now look what's going on - quick rush to bailout. Hence, the meltdown.
Oh yes, it could be on your street. Yes, there is a family of illegals on our street. They bought in 2005, interest only payment. They got a 'liar' loan application. They worked as house cleaners and their employer lied about their work salaries. Since buying the house they have NEVER paid taxes on their house and their loan company went belly up. They make their payments of interest only to a holding company until the mortgage is purchased by a lender. They can't get a refinance because the taxes are in arrears some $8,000. They are only marking time until they lose the house or the government comes up with some type plan that will save them. Fair? No, not to the rest of us who pay their mortgages and taxes on time, and struggle to do so. No plan for us!

They arrested an illegal alien in VA who had stolen an identity, and used it to obtain a mortgage loan. He then refinanced, and did in fact run with the money. Fortunately, they apprehended him. Just think of the thousands, perhaps millions, they don't catch.
These criminals have no concern for the ruined credit, and destroyed lives of their victims. As long as they get what they want, everything is peachy.

just to add more fuel to the fire, how about illegals taking cash out mailing it to benefit their own country's economy and then being bailed out by the federal government for the full purchase price of that home by the taxpayers......
