BofA aims new credit card at illegal immigrants

Well they get a new niche market but i wonder if it will be profitable enough for them. They are taking a risk that the illegal immigrants might pay or not or maybe they just write off the default amount which is not right at all either.

The several hundred dollar hold on the rental car is placed by the bank so that they can nab people with overdraft fees if they are redlining it. You might have got denied for the loan because you weren't risky enough-- money is made from the occasional overdrafts.

B of A looks like a pretty unfriendly place with high fees. Lots of bad stories i've heard and i dont like feeling like i go to mcdonalds when i go to a bank. yeah they want to grow but they dont really offer anything special or particularly good service. They would suck to work for and suck to bank with.

Since the REAL ID act has been just passed, wouldnt this make BOA breaking the law since the REAL ID is needed to open a bank account.

these things are why I believe that amnesty is going to be passed...

Same prob I have/had! I do love their on-line banking...

But I have some accts at WAMU--they pay 5% int! And you can open an acct "Completely" on the net...

I have always hated BOA...(unless one does alot of state to state travel)They are #1 in poor/no custumer service!

Try getting a credit card without giving them your SSI # and see how far you get.
How are they going to collect when they run up a tab and leave?
This is going to be another cost passed onto everyone else when they default on their obligations and just change their name and address.

Go to operationbankrupt and check it out...they sat March 10th as a day of protest to close your B of A accounts...I went into the bank that day to close mine and they told me I had to do it over the phone. So I phoned them and was hoping to tell them why I was closing my account, but I couldn't talk to anyone...just "press 2 if you want to close your account!!" I also read at operationbankrupt that we should close our WAMU accounts, so that's what I'm doing next.
