More illegal alien sense of entitlement, coupled with spurious propaganda. Federal law requires that ALL children receive a K-12 education, and they know it. It also requires that ALL receive medical care for life-threatening emergencies. As usual, they rely on lies to support their cause.

"No to I-409, Yes to Human Rights.” That was the statement printed on fliers handed out Monday at the CUB, as part of a protest by Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán to protest the initiative.

Proposed Initiative 409 would prohibit illegal immigrants in Washington state from obtaining drivers’ licenses by requiring proof of citizenship. It would also deny illegal immigrants certain federal, state and local public benefits over the age of 14.

Public and private employers would also be required to check that new employees can legally work in the U.S., possibly using a federal program called E-Verify.

MEChA co-chairwoman Adriana Sanchez said those who support the initiative don’t realize the effects it could have on Washington’s economy.

“I see I-409 as a discriminating act, it is denying opportunity to the less fortunate,” she said. “I hope people look outside the box and realize the negative effects this initiative could have on children such as denying them high school education or the negative effects of denying health care to those who need it or the cost to produce productivity. It’s inhumane.” If the proposal goes forward, it could be interpreted to say that children illegally in the U.S. could not attend high school, and that anyone over the age of 14 would be ineligible for medical care, Sanchez said.

Oh is this about human rights? Well gee, maybe they should go back across the border and tell it to their own government. While they are at it they need to demand that their government set up a program that educates them on the topics of sexual deviance and abstinence.

They should also request that their government provide birth control pills for those who have no common sense or self control.

Last time I checked it was illegal for a non US citizen to be here without proper documentation.

Regarding rights...How about the rights of the US citizens and tax payers? I don't want illegals to be able to succeed to the point that they can compete with citizens for high paying jobs, nor do I want to share the roads with uninsured illegal drivers that interpret our laws quite differently than most citizens.. These illegal invaders need to respect OUR rights, instead of telling us to respect theirs.

Agreed. I am so sick, tired and angry about all of this. I'm ready to march, fight, go to jail and whatever else it takes to stop this mess.
