While we are in the midst of a financial crisis and the beginnings of an economic recession, not much attention is being placed on the once hot issue of illegal immigraion. Once the hurt really starts to show up and be much more noticeable to the American people will things begin to change. The shock factor of this economic fiasco will begin to pass as people settle in to the dismal reality they are in and they then will begin to look for any factors which is causing hardship in addition to the drop in their standard of living and government cuts on services etc... With 12-20 million illegals here, costing jobs, tax, space in schools, extra crime the sleeping giant will awaken. Remember in the last big recession, a backlash against welfare caused one of the greatest reforms in the welfare system in recent memory, and the welfare recipients where Americans! Our crooked politicians have been trying to ram a amnesty, H1B increases and other unpopular policies down our throats as fast as they can. Their time is running out, because they will have no chance in hell within a year from now. The illegals gotta go and legal immigration needs to be reduced. Quality of life is way better than quantity of $ for the fat cats and liberal votes for the hypocrites.

We are already witnessing an increase in resentment and hostility toward illegal aliens. The negative impact of illegal immigration is becoming increasingly evident to more people on a daily basis. All states with a large illegal presence are experiencing huge budget deficits. Each week, another manufacturing plant or business announces massive layoffs or reductions in workforce. Legal citizens are losing jobs and homes at an unprecedented rate.

During prosperous and halcyon times, we could afford to be more charitable. We are now at war, not only in the Middle East, but at home. In spite of pro-illegals’ denial, we have been invaded, and our sovereignty has been compromised. We can no longer afford to have millions of illegals bankrupting this country.

The anger will only escalate as economic conditions worsen. People are now expressing their anger through written and verbal communication. However, I fear the mode of communication will change, and will culminate in a bloodbath if illegals continue to refuse to leave. May God help us.

Benicar: knowing your manner; when you start using terms like 'bloodbath'-------------------my blood runs cold.

I just can't wait until the next push for amnesty etc.. is attempted.
Revolution will reign again in this great land. These politicians and business elites probably have the balls to try.... and they will burn.

If they even fix their mouths to pronounce the word, I have no doubt, it's gonna get civil rights movement caliber ugly.

Aparently you have to hit the donkey (or elephant...) with a bat to get its attention! But at least we'll go in knowing who is going to win!

Good. I've been stewing since the summer of 2001 over illegal immigration, and since January of 2002 over the H-1B visa system scam. Bring it on.

Sadly, the pot is boiling underneath a highly incited flame. I think it's safe to say that despite the political pandering in exchange for latino votes, amnesty is already off the table.
