The 3-0 ruling allows opponents of San Francisco's immigration policy to try to prove that the city has broken the state law. Passed in 1953, the law requires police to tell federal immigration officials whenever they arrest someone for any of 14 specified drug crimes and have reason to believe that the person "may not be a citizen of the United States." It applies not only to illegal immigrants but also to non-citizens who are legal residents and can be deported for committing serious crimes.

If any individuals are allowed to speak to deliver evidence before the opponents of SF's sanctuary city policy I hope that Ms. Bologna, the widow who lost her husband and two sons at the hands of an illegal immigrant, is the first to do so.
It would also be great if it means jailtime for Mr. Newsom and his pro-illegal cronies.
By the way, does anyone have any information regarding her lawsuit against the city?

man that is awsome, you know i knew this all along like many have with SF but i have always wondered they are blatantly breaking the law and speaking about it ( the mayor gets up and touts that he does not care about the law) he thinks he is above it. I have always wondered when the law would catch up with them. Im really happy to see it did. Its good to know our system still works.

I remember when Prop, 187 came out. For the first couple year SF and other CAL,cities kept appealing it. For awhile It didn't seem to have much ground to stand on. Even after that, it's hardly enforced.
