CRIME Blog | The Dallas Morning News

"A McAllen Monitor story cites an intelligence bulletin saying that the group is stockpiling weapons in that city, and reports that South Texas police are already saying they're willing to return fire, even across the border if need be.

"Let's face it," the Monitor quotes Laredo police Chief Carlos Maldonado saying. "The only people that recognize jurisdictional and international boundaries are us."

We've been reporting on Zeta encroachment for at least three years, and authorities now openly admit that nearly all the cocaine coming into and through Dallas is likely the work of the Gulf Cartel.

It's unknown how federal crackdowns on the group, known for its gruesome violence and brazen recruiting tactics, will translate up here in Dallas..."

It would not surprise me that they are building up for something here in this country. They control both sides of the border and have the big money to do whatever they want to do.

And the Zetas are playing with fire if they do something boneheaded here in the USA------------unlike Mexico, too many Americans have guns and will shoot back.

I don't know -- in Mexico they don't really go after innocent people, they go after those who are in other cartels.

They're already over here and they're already killing victims but most people don't care because they read of 5 men getting their throats slashed in an Alabama apartment and it turns out they are drug traffickers from Mexico.

Even in Mexico, the danger is getting hit by a stray bullet but innocent people are generally left alone. Having a gun doesn't always help because many Mexicans including those from the opposing cartels have them.

Maybe thatīs what itīll take to wake us up! I certainly donīt wish for any violence from any group on US soil, but what will it take for many of our citizens to realize the potential harm these undocumented foreigners bring into the US. And yes, if this scum brings firepower into the US we WILL retaliate with force.

Drug dealers whacking each other does not count as being boneheaded in the eyes of most Americans in all fairness.

Your right...it is gloried, romanticized, and put on the big screen in movies such as Good Fellas, Scarface, and the Sopranos...Big selling games are based on crime...see the GTA series...
