I don't have a problem with the terms illegal alien or illegal immigrant. What I do have a problem with is when people refer to them as "illegals". A person cannot be illegal- only their actions. We don't call murderers or robbers "illegals" do we?
I'm wary of blanket statements like "there are too many Illegals in X area." How, pray tell, do you know when a person is an "Illegal"? Do you just assume that a large hispanic population = "Illegals?" How do you know a person is here Illegally? If it is simply by their appearance and/or native language- then that's just plain racism.

Anymore: the word 'illegal' when by itself is fast becoming synonymous for illegal immigrant/alien.
As we all know: words changes meanings--------for better or worse.
'Ravishing' is an example; it used to refer to raping a woman-------today, saying a woman is ravishing is stating that she is gorgeous, nothing more.

When you've lived in a community for 26 years and within the last 5 years you observe several changes such as, change in culture, original owners moving out, while poor people are moving into Barns, garages, abandoned houses, falling down sheds, abandoned and derelict buildings and there moving in 3-4 families together and with no utilities,
then when you call Building and Safety and they tell you that the properties in question are not suppose to be occupied. I'd say that it's safe to say that these were illegal immigrants.
Legal Immigrants have no reason to live like this.

Yet another example of that plague of stupidity called political correctness.
Should we just call them "criminals" from now on? It's an exact decription of illegal aliens, and all those who aid and abet them. As for Hispanics, any stigma they have brought upon themselves is entirely self-inflicted.
As for the invasion of our border by these economic parasites, the organized crime they bring with them, and especially the ones preaching overthrow . . I don't give a damn that people like you think referring to these criminals as "illegals", is a problem. Moderator cut: personal attack

Uhmmmm Illegals is a shortened version of illegal immigrant. In American english this is a common practice.
What we call murderers and robbers is criminals. Whoa just like illegals...They are criminals also. 100% of them.
How do I tell an illegal from a legal? I ask to see their green card . If they are not carrying their green card then they are in violation of their visa.
When I built my house a masonary contractor had several hispanics on his crew. I demanded to see the green cards. None had any on them. I fired the contractor and reported him.
At work the company uses temporary contractors for unskilled laber. Often they are immigrants. I will ask to see their green cards. So far all have had them. Make no mistake should one fail to have their green card I will report them. Legal immigrants have no issue presenting the green card. For them it is a badge of honor. I can't help but believe those who are against such acts like mine are so because:
1. They support and or facilitate illegals.
2. They are an illegal.
3. They are involved with an illegal.
4. Use illegal services.
Wow, this section of the forum is really full of hatred. You all must be miserable people.
What would you propose to call people who enter the US illegally and stay and work illegally?
Immigrant certainly doesn't cover it, nor does undocumented worker --- that is like calling my brother an unliscened pharmacist.
My brother is illegal (drug dealer) and the people living and working in this country are also illegal (aliens). It is short and accurate..
Although I do agree with some of the other posters that 'criminal' would do nicely.
Yeah but how many times have you seen a drug dealer and said "look at that illegal over there!"
