Amnesty for illegals does not benefit most Americans.

Those above lawbreakers depress wages for many people and, if nothing else, their basic Third World attitude (fear/hatred for law and order, etc) creates disrespect for American mores and laws in general.

How does it affect me? My taxes paid for illegal criminals for years and years. This might be surprising to pro-illegal immigration proponents, but people who break laws are criminals, whether it's immigration laws or other laws. Illegals drive down wages for everyone while crowding our schools, hospitals, jails and roads. Amnesty means more illegals in America down the road, just like it happened when Ronald Reagan gave illegal aliens amnesty.

That's how it affects me. The bigger point here is why are people who break our laws rewarded with citizenship. Do you reward criminals who break into your home?

I am a American born citizen and so are all of my family members. So Amnesty does not benefit me.

Are you kidding with this post? It only opens the door to more pillaging of the tax base. 12 million people living under the radar would keep on keepin on while qualifying for additional Social Services. You don't get that? They still won't "make" enough to pay income tax, especially if they are working under the table and will qualify for unjest tax refunds.

Sounds like a great idea

It benefits no American, especially those of us who are of the baby boomer generation.

12 to 20 million illegal aliens given citizenship (or a pathway to it, meaning eventual citizenship).
12 to 20 million people whose payment into the U.S. Social Security system is slim or none at all.
12 to 20 million people reaching retirement age who will then be collecting payments from a Social Security system which has already been compromised by our wonderful governmental reprentatives and is predicted to go bankrupt within the next 20 years.

A system, which I have paid into since I was thirteen years old, that will be paying out benefits to (formerly) illegal aliens of retirement age, but will be flat ass broke when the time comes to give me back what I've paid in.

There's a benefit for you.....

So much for Obama's immigration turn around during the election , eh?
Obama always had the same views on immigration even during the elections. I don't know why some of you thought he would appoint someone like tancredo in his administration.

It will be broke before that.

Figure one person gets in and gets amnesty. Then comes the spouse. Then the children ( lets say only 2). Then the grandparents ( lets say only 2).... you already have 8 people and you have all going for benefits of some kind. If you bring the entire family ( or count all already here) we will be dead broke and asking the illegals to fund us.
