Named after a Los Angeles high school football star (Jamiel Shaw) murdered this year by a previously convicted illegal immigrant gang member, Jamielís Law will require the cityís police department to develop a policy to identify, arrest, deport and/or prosecute and imprison gang members who are in the country illegally. The Los Angeles Police Departmentís longtime immigration policy is donít ask donít tell.

Supporters of the law had a short time to gather nearly 80,000 signatures from registered voters in Los Angelesólong an illegal immigrant havenóin order to put Jamielís Law on the ballot in the March 2009 municipal election. The signed petitions were given to the city clerkís office this week, just days before the deadline.

Many in the notoriously liberal and pro-immigrant City of Angels were outraged when the gang member murdered the teenage prep football star just one day after completing a jail sentence for a previous felony. Because practically the entire state has a sanctuary policy that protects illegal immigrants, the gang banger was released rather than deported.

All Americans (especially those trapped in LA) are waiting for that day with baited breath . . .

Well, the law didn't make it.

Quote:
OS ANGELES - Supporters of a measure to check the immigration status of gang members have failed to gather enough signatures to put the issue before Los Angeles voters. A spokeswoman for the city clerk said Thursday that supporters fell about 55,000 signatures short of the 74,000 required to put the measure on the May ballot. Proponents claimed to have gathered about 76,000 signatures.

Its strange enough that they arent even Hispanic yet feel they must stick up for every kick every change for the worse that illegals and many legals inflict upon USA.

The support is in the over 70,000 signatures collected--the five full bankers boxes full of petitions, a total of over 760 petition packets--cross counted and verified by several people before being turned in, which once in the hands of the elections offices, mysteriously became 480 petition packets with only 18,559 signatures.

I know the people who were out collecting these signatures and I know that they ensured that they had well over the number signatures needed before turning them in. They trusted that the election officials, whether or not they agreed with the issue, would do their jobs honestly and with integrity.

A friend of mine had this to say about the signatures:

"I was there in the elections office when we turned in those signatures. There were OVER 76,000 signatures. Althea (Shaw) and other volunteers spent half the night counting the day before we had to turn them in. If we only had '18,000' signatures, we wouldn't have bothered turning them. THIS IS FRAUD. I HATE L.A. MORE THAN EVER!!! THIS IS HOW I FEEL. RIGHT. NOW."

Is there more information on this issue?

If this is such, there must be some unbelievably corrupt politicians in office in LA.

It's disgrace that there are people willing enough to corrupt the law in order to protect illegal immigrant gang members.

An investigation needs to be conducted IMMEDIATELY!!!
