The penalty of deportation is not enough. Just if we simply jailed a bank robber but allowed him to keep the money stolen would not be enough.
The penalty must out weigh any potential gains of the crime if it is to be a deterrent.

I disagree with what you people are saying. This is not true they come for a better life. Since none of you people have ever been in a situation like they have how would you understand. The part of them waiting in line is not true because people do what and what and have to go back time after time because the people working at those place don't care and they only let those who seem to have a lot of money get their visas not those who need them to come and work to help their families. Oh and have you ever thought how much money it would take to "round up" all the people who are in this country illegally, nice try but sorry to tell you it would cost a lot more money then what you think.

It's better than them hanging around waiting to be shot by their governments or local police.
Your worst day is better than anything that many of them have lived through.

People come over here to seige the American dream and theres only crime and things of that sort because they are denied the american dream. The policies need to be updated and revised and I believe that anyone should be allowed a shot at the american dream if they come over here in the right way. Still everyone deserves human rights and don't deserve to be mistreated.

Three quick comments here:

#1: those folks who are actually fleeing the Zetas, et al in Mexico tend to head straight to our authorities and turn themselves in immediately.

#2: starvation is no longer a problem in Mx judging by the obesity problem there.

#3: the USA is facing a severe recession and we no longer have the means to bail out failed societies..........maybe Mexico needs to ask Hugo Chavez for some $$$ instead?

The deepening recession here is forcing many illegal aliens out of the USA and making life much rougher on those who dare to stick it out.
