I would propose all that you have listed. In addition, any children they produce would not be U.S. citizens until after they become naturalized citizens. We need to rescind the 14th Amendment. No freebies, period.

The question remains. Should we allow immigration simply do to a poverty situation? Foreign aid may be more benifical in the long and short term.
I don't believe that poverty should be a deciding factor. Skills should always be a factor. Quite honestly we produce enough unskilled labor already.

We can't rescue the entire impoverished world. No, we need immigrants who will benefit this country.

Agreed... I would also add a provision to make it easier for naturalized citizens who are financially stable to sponsor adult children to immigrate to the USA.

I agree with Benicar. We cannot save the world. Our resources are limited as well.

I would not object to that. However, chain migration must end. We don't need hundreds of illiterate, low-skilled extended family members. We have more than enough homegrown welfare recipients.

I too agree:

Such immigrants should count as political refugees.

A modern example would be Afghanis and Iraqis helping our Armed Forces.

Anymore; I agree as well............

I would be OK with grandfathering in the present minor age Anchor Babies (assuming that both parents are illegal) but the parents would still need to leave.

I agree;if we are going to recogniose shildren born of american citizens as citizens then we need to recognise children born in this country of illegal non-citizens from mexico as mexican citiznes. It is a conflict of law IMO.
