In a letter sent to members of Obama’s Department of Interior transition team this week, the Lipan Apache Women Defense group of south Texas requested an end to fencing, demanded a halt to "illegal" seizures of border communities’ properties and appealed for respect of the rights of indigenous people.

In a telephonic press conference with reporters, tribal member Margo Tamez said fencing on the Lipan Apaches’ lands would constitute a gross violation of the human rights of land-based people who depend on border and river access for the collection of medicinal herbs and other cultural practices.

American Patrol Report

While I understand that they are indigenous people, maybe the US government can figure out a way to continue building the fence in a way would allow them access to their prehistoric lifestyle.

The rest of us should not be raped, mutilated, tortured and die at the hands of the wild animals crossing our borders, because of it.

This falls under a wierd category. You cannot allow them to police themselves as it will become a corridor of illegal activity. This has been proven on other tribal lands on and near the border.

And I'm *****.... , I'd know

you can't say i-n-jun?, ok pc run amok.

Easy, include the indigenous types on the MEXICAN side.....they can do all the herb they want....
Perhaps, no definitely what we need is defense in depth....One set of fences down at the bottom....and another set further up.....and another set....this with a ten-fold increase in the border patrol, National Guard / Reserve troops rotating through on a regular basis....more jeeps, planes, helo's ....but I know I'm dreaming....won't happen....
.

....and the invasion continues.....unchecked.....

You did bring up an interesting point though:

Despite the bad history between some of the Euros and the Cherokee, etc.-----------when it comes down to keeping at least illegal alien Mexicans out of the USA---------can someone say let's 'bury the hatchet' between the first two groups?

Ever feel more like the wall is to keep you *in* rather than keep others *out*?

the border wall is useless when we don't enforce our immigration laws, give citizenship to their offspring, and allow them to leech off taxpayer welfare programs.

we give them more than enough benefits to come in here. and what do we get in return? cheap labor, cities turning into ghettos, increased welfare spending, pumping out kids which causes Americans to flee, basically an all around decrease in quality of life for Americans. Nobody wants them here yet we're told we need to accept it.
