You're not going to want to hear this, but back during the "Big One"...the Amnesty of 1986...there was actually a 'corrido' heard on local S Calif radio whose refrain went..
"..este mojado va a ser seco....'....(or words to that effect). So much for the 'racist' aspect of the term......

No, the song wasn't a great one, and soon faded into history.

Once again, no, I don't use it. Crude, offensive, and vulgar...just psssing along a 'tidbit' of musical history.

Your offended?!......get over it!
I understand they fly into Mexico and cross the river just like Mexicans (and others) do. They also come from the Canadian border. There are plenty of Chinese illegal immigrants...they are just a whole lot more inobtrusive. Go to your local nail salon...how many of them are illegal I wonder?

I think we already established that it has been used by Mexicans, but how does that take away the racist aspect of the term?

The name refered to anyone( whether their skin color is black, yellow, brown, green, red or white) who swam the Rio Grande to get here "illegally".

Weird though: apparently said slur refers to only 'brown' people from Mexico------not White Mexicans.
