Many states provide a live certificate of birth (almost always informally and inaccurately called a 'birth certificate') as a legal document that proves you have a US birth certificate and are therefore born in the USA. This is what people from Hawaii use to get a driver's license, passport etc. Normally, you can't get the actual birth certificate; Obama had to pull some strings to get a copy of the actual birth certificate.

It's preposterous to think that someone could fake a live certificate of birth, get the Hawaiian authorities to publicly confirm that it's authentic, and convince the FBI to ignore that part of the federal public official background check--let alone plant fake birth announcements in decades old newspapers.

If having one immigrant parent makes you suspect, both Andrew Jackson's parents were immigrants. He, of course, was white, and didn't have a 'funny name.'

I would say that the person pulling the race card started it first. You have a problem with pointing out the obvious?
