Gregoire calls for deportation of jailed illegal aliens

Smart choice, isn't it? Hopefully this concept will spread to the rest of the US as our economy faces a deepening recession.

30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIP...01/ldt.01.html

I think it's a great idea only you would have to build a border fence so they can't return by the weekend. It cost money to deport illegal aliens around $600. a head. Once the jails and prison were emptied, we could fill them up again with more illegal aliens and deport them too and repeat the process until all illegal aliens are deported.

The National Policy Institute, "estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period."

That has been debunked so many times.

Blacknight04,

What has been debunked?

Today, criminal aliens account for over 29 percent of prisoners in Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities and a higher share of all federal prison inmates. These prisoners represent the fastest growing segment of the federal prison population.
Incarceration of criminal aliens cost an estimated $624 million to state prisons (1999) and $891 million to federal prisons (2002), according to the most recent available figure from the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR): Criminal Aliens

Paraphrased:
Everyday 12 Americans are murdered by an illegal alien. Another 13 Americans are killed by uninsured drunk illegal aliens. Everyday 8 Children are victims of sex crimes committed by illegal aliens! (More Americans are being killed on American SOIL each day by the hands of illegal aliens, than are being killed in the Iraq war and Afghanistan war combined!!!!!)

News Center: Press Release - United States Representative Steve King (http://www.house.gov/apps/list/hearing/ia05_king/col_20060505_bite.html - broken link)

The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the United States.

One GAO study addressed to King and dated April 7, 2005, did report that about 27 percent of all inmates in federal prisons in 2004 were criminal aliens. The study noted that the 27 percent figure applied to all noncitizens in federal prison -- not just to those in the country illegally. The study did not report on the percentage of state and local inmates that are criminal aliens because, according to the GAO, "there was no reliable population and incarceration cost data on criminal aliens incarcerated in all state prisons and local jails." However, data from the BJS suggest that the percentage of prisoners who are criminal aliens, at least at the federal and state levels, is far lower than King claimed. According to the BJS, 6.4 percent of all state and federal inmates at midyear 2005 were "noncitizens" -- not just illegal immigrants -- down from 6.5 percent in 2004.
Colorado Media Matters has previously explained how King might have arrived at his illegitimate figure

Rep King is making things up as he goes along.

Illegal immigrants, convicted of crimes in Arizona, are deported after serving their sentences.

The way it should be.

Yeah, same old story everyone's wrong except for the illegal alien sympathizers. They love to make up their own facts and studies to suit their agenda, Congressman King didn't remark on the 29% of inmates being illegal. You're
conveniently twisting the truth. Being an illegal alien in the United States is a criminal offense whether you like it or not. We don't have enough jails and prisons to hold all the offenders! I guess we'll just have to put them into REX84 Concentration Camps. You can visit them there to say your goodbyes...

I provided you with the facts not transcripts from t.v shows. The only one twisting the truth is you, besides if your case is so strong, there would be no need to make "facts" up to bolster your position right?

You also got the bolded part wrong again, you really need to brush up on your knowledge of immigration law.

Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani said illegal immigration is not a crime, prompting rival Mitt Romney to accuse him of not taking the problem seriously. The two have clashed for weeks over illegal immigration, an issue that inflames GOP conservatives who influence primary elections. The irony is that both candidates have in the past taken more liberal stands on the issue."It's not a crime," Giuliani said Friday. "I know that's very hard for people to understand, but it's not a federal crime."
Giuliani's comments came in an interview with CNN Headline News and radio talk-show host Glenn Beck.
"I was U.S. attorney in the Southern district of New York," he said. "So believe me, I know this. In fact, when you throw an immigrant out of the country, it's not a criminal proceeding. It's a civil proceeding."

Why do you think the republican controlled house tried to pass the law in 2006 making it a felony crime to be here illegally?

Blacknight04,

Perhaps you should read the Federal Laws since they have precedence over illegal alien loving politicians.

***

An illegal alien is a person who is in the United States in VIOLATION of U.S. immigration laws. Such a person may have entered illegally that is, without Immigration and Naturalization Service inspection (undocumented) or using fraudulent documentation or legally under a nonimmigrant visa or other temporary condition and subsequently violated the terms of the visa or other terms of entry.
