Yep, i believe that was true. Clinton faced big pressures from La Raza and other interest groups to do it. Clinton, to me, was a good president but this was a fatal flaw in his time in the oval office.

Not letting Slick Willie off the hook here: but; the Republicans had control of both houses of Congress and the White House from 2001-07---------yet they aided and abetted illegal immigration.

In other words: the Patriot Act clearly did not apply to Mexicans and others sneaking across our southern border.

I beg to differ. The Latino/Hispanic community is very strong and are large in number even when you only consider those here legally. Spanish programming on radio had already been well established in the late 60s and early 70s. It is pretty naive to think that what we see today is ONLY due to illegal Latino/Hispanic community.

chain illegal migration and the anchor syndrome has been going on for, what, 60 years? I think illegal immigration has everything to do with a large population of Hispanics.
