She deserved a better future then what she is now facing. Her boyfriend and mother simply deserve jail.
those are some leaps. my best friend is from a single teen mother, impoverished, all the world working against him. now in his 40's he is a successful man with his own painting company. it might work out for baby justin.

its funny that we hear of all these stories of triumph over adversity. and they make movies based on actual events where people over come great odds, but for some reason it is not possible in this situation.

its pretty telling.

good luck to the baby. and the mother. and the father.

yup, same old hat.

Same old hat? Look, your friend is the exception, not the rule. But since you have no apparent problem with a woman pimping out her 8th grade dd to a 20 year old man, maybe you will believe the March of Dimes:

Only 40 percent of teenagers who have children before age 18 go on to graduate from high school, compared to 75 percent of teens from similar social and economic backgrounds who do not give birth until ages 20 or 21 (2).

and

Teen mothers are more likely to live in poverty than women who delay childbearing, and more than 75 percent of all unmarried teen mothers go on welfare within five years of the birth of their first child (2).

and

About 78 percent of children born to an unmarried teenage high-school dropout live in poverty, compared to 9 percent of children born to women over age 20 who are married and high school graduates (11). A child born to a teenage mother is 50 percent more likely to repeat a grade in school and is more likely to perform poorly on standardized tests and drop out before finishing high school (2).

Teenage Pregnancy - March of Dimes

But yeah...what do they know? You know somebody who turned out well. Or maybe you knocked up some young girl? Or were teen mom yourself? Good for you if you clawed your way out of that dead end, but let's not pretend a 15 year old 8th grader having a baby with the encouragement of her mother is anything but in a dangerous and poverty sticken place.
