The fed gov, run by the elite ruling class and a bunch of sorry ass politicians, only interested in acquiring wealth for themselves and getting reelected, is taking the country down the path to ruination. And then, as long as the Democratic politicians, who now control the fed gov, view these crops of anchor babies as mostly future Democratic voters, nothing will change on the anchor baby industry front.
FYI: the Republicans held control of both houses of Congress and the White House 2001-07 yet that farcical 'Patriot Act' apparently does/did not apply to illegal aliens.

Thanks. Well, jorge is just about finishing his incompetent corrupt ruinous regime. On the other hand, it's pretty common knowledge that the Democrats have built their core base off of nurturing the welfare classes. Gov checks going to the anchor crops combined with constant blatant hispandering by Democratic politicians insure that these anchor crops will be mostly Democratic voters. This welfare class of Democratic voters has now helped give the Democratic politicians, who actually live in gated communities, CONTROL of the fed gov. I don't see ANY hope of changing the 14th amendment, which is producing crop after anchor crop of Democratic voters. The present interpretation of the 14th amendment is way to successful for Harry Reid or Nancy to allow it to be changed.

Ah. You're talking about, the RINO, jorge's administration. Well, jorge's allowing illegal immigration to quadruple didn't reach critical mass until after he was reelected. Jorge's base, including myself, deserted him en masse, except for the corrupt, the scumbag employers of illegals, and those that think the earth is 5,000 years old.

CURRENT Republicans are fighting for their very political futures over an illegal immigration shamnesty. The Republicans, including jorge, during his sorry administration, were short sighted in seeing where an endless stream of anchor crop Democratic voters would evenually lead to. Now the Republicans are powerless to do anything about it.

Jorge wanted the Patriot Act because he was determined to leave the Southern border wide open for all of the illegal aliens to break in for his Republican scumbag employers of illegals and he realized, since the Southern border was wide open, he needed some extra security measures in his fight against terror.

Two illegal aliens cannot procreate an American.

Reid and Pelosi aren't about to let us abolish or change the 14th amendment in any way, since endless anchor crops of future Democratic voters are working so well for them.

The 14th amendment needs to be changed to make it clear that foreign nationals breaking into the US illegally are still subject to the jurisdiction of the countries they are citizens of and NOT subject to the jurisdiction of the US of which they are not citizens of, and therefore the children born to these foreign nationals are not citizens of the US. But......it's not going to happen.

Should a bill be introduced on the floor abolishing the 14th, and receives the majority vote to pass, neither Reid nor Pelosi can do a thing about it.

Agreed and great post!

As they say: 'Hell froze over'; a 'Black' man won the Presidency fair and square (which I did not expect in my lifetime)------------why not the Anchor Baby loophole be closed/locked as well?

Well, the Democratic party with the help of the biased liberal media was able to historically elect a black President. So, because the Democratic party is in almost full control now, the blue dog Democrats, the only faction of the Democratic party that, I think, might be interested in changing the 14th amendment, would have to get a lot more numerous. Pelosi just changed the Recommit Motion which will further silence the minority Republicans.

Dallas - Unfair Park - Parkland, Even More "Overwhelmed"

Out this week is a report that notes the following: Patients spent "an average of four hours and three minutes" waiting in the emergency room in 2008, a slight decrease from the '07 average but an enormous jump from the '02 numbers. In Texas, the average wait is 258 minutes..

This quirky legal right then allows the mother's parents and siblings to remain, and later a whole bunch of their relatives to immigrate legally. This why they are also known as "Jackpot babies." Just consider Parkland Memorial Hospital (http://www2.hernandotoday.com/topic/k/parkland-memorial-hospital/ - broken link) in Dallas, the second busiest maternity ward (http://www2.hernandotoday.com/topic/k/maternity-ward/ - broken link) in the U.S. In 2006, 70 percent of the women giving birth (http://www2.hernandotoday.com/topic/k/women-giving-birth/ - broken link) in Parkland were illegal immigrants. That added up to 11,200 babies for which Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million to deliver these babies, the feds (http://www2.hernandotoday.com/topic/k/feds/ - broken link) another $9.5 million and Dallas taxpayers tossed in $31.3 million. The average illegal patient is 25 years old and giving birth to her second anchor baby. We could also talk about California, but you get the point.

Anchor Babies Weigh Down Economy
Anchor baby is a derogatory term for a child born in the United States to immigrants or other non-citizens, regardless of the immigration status of the parents.

According to our laws, they are rightfully U.S. citizens.

Jus soli (Latin for "right of the soil" or, somewhat figuratively, "right of the territory"), or birthright citizenship, is a right by which nationality or citizenship can be recognised to any individual born in the territory of the related state.

Jus soli is common in developed countries that wish to increase their own citizenry, as well as in countries of the Western Hemisphere who sought to increase their populations through settlement. It is also recognized in some developing countries, most notably Pakistan.

States that observe jus soli include:
  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Argentina
  • Barbados
  • Belize
  • Bolivia
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • Chile (children of transient foreigners or of foreign diplomats on assignment in Chile only upon request)
  • Colombia
  • Dominica
  • Dominican Republic
  • Ecuador
  • El Salvador
  • Fiji
  • Grenada
  • Guatemala
  • Guyana
  • Honduras
  • Jamaica
  • Lesotho
  • Mexico
  • Nicaragua
  • Pakistan
  • Panama
  • Paraguay
  • Peru
  • Romania
  • Saint Christopher and Nevis
  • Saint Lucia
  • Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • United States
  • Uruguay
  • Venezuela
There are millions of U.S. citizens that are the offprings of non-U.S. citizens (immigrants). This is how USA increased its population over the last 2 centuries. If our laws would have been different, and Jus Soli (birthright citizenship) were illegal, our country would have closed the door to the immigration waves of the last 100 years, and the country would be totally different as it is today.

You "Anchor baby" haters should go to school and get educated.

The whole issue here is that the anchor babies of the last few decades are not European, they are Amerindian Mexicans. This whole issue is a racist issue. Even people like Nicole Kidman were anchor babies (She was born in Hawaii and her two parents are Australian/Non-U.S. nationals, and her whole family currently lives in Oz).

There are millions of citizens who were anchor babies at some point in their lives. Any U.S. citizen born in U.S. whose parents were not U.S. nationals are anchor babies. If you are a third generation U.S. American that means that your grandparent was an anchor baby.

The way the 14th amendment is being used today is ABUSE, plain and simple. Even those who still need to "go to school and get educated" can see that. But hey, sit there and cry "racist", it apparently hasn't been worn out yet.
