WASHINGTON, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- The poor U.S. economy affects illegal immigration two ways: discouraging people from coming to the United States and from leaving, a study reveals.

The study released Wednesday by Migration Policy Institute, a non-partisan Washington organization, also said illegal immigrants are less likely to want to return to their native countries because of family and job ties to the United States, The Washington Post (NYSE:WPO) reported.

They ‘supposedly’ come here to seek a better life; yet, even when that is impossible, they remain. If we stopped all freebies, and properly penalized employers, they would have no recourse: either leave, or join the ranks of the destitute homeless.

After being constantly and blatantly hispandered to by the Democrats, these illegal mostly Mexican scabs are hunkering down waiting to step into the steaming pile of Obama shamnesty just around the corner.

They can hunker down all they want. Bush also tried to pass a shamnesty bill, and "We The People" responded to him and the other panderers with a resounding NO! If they try it again, the response will be even louder. I believe it’s all by design. The corporate masters don’t want amnesty. That would be tantamount to the plantation owners supporting the abolition of slavery.

How can We the people stop the Democrats from engineering a shamnesty that will result in a staggering number of new future Democratic voters? The new Democratic Congress will have a near super majority in Congress and can pretty much pass ANY legislation. The urge to engineer a shamnesty that will guarantee Democratic election wins for many years to come is pretty powerful, even if it ruins the country. Harry and Nancy are salivating.

I could be wrong, but I don’t believe amnesty is their goal. I believe they want to maintain the status quo……..open borders, massive illegals, mega profits, all for their ‘masters’ the corporate elite. I believe it is all a facade, but only time will tell. However, I do believe the economy will throw a monkey wrench in their plans.

amnesty is bad, having a shadow wage slave population serving us which we pretend does not exist is worse. every church every government office every bank and retail store subcontracts janitor and garden service, its all illegal fronted by a few green card people, sure its legitimate with green card workers, the 1st 60 days. jr needs to get off his fat fanny and mow that lawn and clean the bathrooms. get him off the couch. we have become lazy and got too much attitude. they do the work we have become too lazy to do.

Are you sure you did not mean Republicans?

That comment coming from on very angry GOP member (myself).

Why I say the above is the GOP had control of both houses of Congress and the Presidency from 2001-07-----------during which time we were being inudated by illegal aliens. I though the Patriot Act was to secure our borders but evidently it does not apply to 'people wishing to come here for a better life'

Jorge never intended to secure the border, as evidenced by his always doing just the bare minimum in enforcement but still just enough to appear to be doing something, because he needed to keep the cheap illegal labor coming to satisfy his Republican employers of illegals. Jorge, or his handlers, realized that if he's going to have a wide open border he needed something like the Patriot Act to compensate. Jorge was pushing shamnesty but it was defeated by the Republicans in the House. The majority of the Dems naturally voted for shamnesty. At some point the Republicans realized, that while they were mostly responsible for the flood of illegals into the US, that if the Democrats were able to engineer a shamnesty, that most of the amnestied illegals were going to be a vast new Democratic voting bloc. That's why, currently, the Republicans are mostly fighting illegal immigration and the Democrats are now fighting the Republicans fighting illegal immigration. A vast new Democratic voting bloc of amnestied illegals would make it difficult for Republicans to ever win an election again. You don't think that's what the Dems are shooting for?

While what you state is true, it doesn't explain the position of the blue dog Democrats who voted with the Republicans against the proverbial "pathway to citizenship". There are politicians on both sides of the aisle who still vote the will of their constituents in favor of their children's futures and against the corporate masters.
