Paul Senseman, a spokesman for the governor, said she generally considers a bill's legal standing, how Arizona residents feel on the issue, and its effect on and residents in the state, The Arizona Republic said. The governor's office reported that as of Monday e-mails, phone calls and faxes on the bill were running heavily against it.

Even if it gets passed it will drag on just like the OK bill. The main thing is it ratchets up anti-Illegal sentiment. That is the best factor as fewer people will hire them or be duped into feeling sympathetic. It's completely on the radar now.

Living in the shadows leeching off tax payers just got a WHOLE lot harder.

She can sign, veto(sign), or let turn into law on its own(without signning).

my guess is she signs last hour.

She may really be getting reports form AZ business people that this really might hurt AZ business. She may be getting reports of serious credible threats of boycotts of Az produce and products. Much like the United Farm Workers try to ban Table grapes from Ca.

Produce is not like durable goods, Cucumbers cant wait on the shelf till a bill is resended.

I remember when Idaho wanted to pass punitive laws versus a particular group, the group got in touch with the largest buyer of Idaho Potatos. the group told the buyer and Idaho, that if Idaho passed the measure, then that group would boycot that restaurants french fries...Idaho changed mind.

I am totally not dissing you...but Idaho is far from the border, if I owned a business and I heard about business's leaving because of the law I would move my business there. If they need people to go pick cucumbers put an ad in the paper and they will come. I know I would.

thanks for not dissing...but my point is not having pickers for produce, its that AZ could lose their market for produce. no reason to pick cukes if the market for cukes(or any AZ product) is not there. Supply and demand, no demand...over supply.

With everyone here on C-D complaining about the illegals being here, you do not think if they were to be deported no one person would come help pick the cukes?

A politican isn't supposed to allow lawlessness in favor of profit. That isn't what our country is about. Besides these employers will just have to hire Americans in place of the illegals that are caught and deported under this new law. For ag jobs there are unlimited visas for that kind of work. No excuses! Some people have the mindset that we should be just like Mexico in regards to corruption.
