They can march until the cows come home. Thousands of Microsoft employees are now being laid off, to add to the millions currently unemployed. Who will be next? Do they actually believe in the midst of surging unemployment and business closures, that anyone is concerned with the plight of illegal aliens?

Quote:
Several hundred immigrant supporters and religious leaders from across the country marched to the Southwest Washington headquarters of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency yesterday, strumming guitars, beating drums and waving colorful homemade banners exhorting President Obama to halt immigration raids and promote legislation offering illegal immigrants a path to citizenship.

Many of the demonstrators had come to town to celebrate Obama's inauguration, and the mostly religious representatives who addressed the crowd portrayed the event as a chance to spiritually "cleanse" the agency of the Bush administration's stepped-up enforcement approach. At the same time, they urged Obama to make good on his campaign promise to push through a legalization plan similar to one that former president George W. Bush twice tried unsuccessfully to get through Congress

Margarito Esquino, an activist for indigenous rights in El Salvador, lit incense and waved condor feathers toward the sky, shouting in Spanish, "O Great Spirit, we ask you to get rid of all the badness in this building and bring in the good!"

Does the legalization/amnesty program facilitate collecting taxes from 'new' citizens?

I think not re: amnesty---------espcially with the way the US economy is crashing.

If anything: those illegal aliens still here in the USA had best start making plans to leave--------and, I am not referring to just Spanish speaking Mestizos either.

The overwhelming majority have minimal education and no discernible job skills. They are never going to earn enough to be paying much in the way of taxes, yet as 'citizens' will be able to feast at the full buffet of benefits. They will never be anything but a millstone hanging around the necks of actual Americans who do pay into the system, they will forever require financial assistance in one form or another.

This is what every pro-amnesty supporter says but how can we trust them to pay their taxes when they couldn't abide by the rule of law that says they couldn't enter the country without permission?

Regardless of your legal status or how you earn a living whether it be ill-gotten gains or not it is a matter of law that you MUST pay tax on your income....just ask Wesley Snipes or Al Capone that is unless you are a Democrat and have been just confirmed as the Treasury Secretary

According the the Pew Hispanic Study; Hispanics make up the majority of those who are in this country without permission and 1/3 of those "non-native born" aged 25 and older have less than a 9th grade education and 1/2 less than 12th. These numbers are five times higher than that of native born Hispanics and 10 times higher than non-Hispanic whites in America and that translates to poverty! Therefore the vast majority of Hispanics here illegally don't and wont 't be paying income taxes anyway so the argument is moot!

A truly enlightened person would ask the question; Besides the scoff-law aliens who is it that benefits from granting amnesty to illegal aliens? The answer is simple; the Democrat Party who won 2/3 of the Hispanic vote in the past election (yet voted Republican in '04) because the Hispanic (legal or not) believes this new administration will create citizenship opportunities for them and that means locking up that vote for generations!

This new administration is not about Hope and Change it is about poverty pimps, both the Democrats and RINO's in Washington entrenching themselves with abject power by ignoring the rule of law for their own benefit.

How right you are, importing poverty is a quick way to bring a Country down a notch..........or 10. Exactly how many jobs do we have that can be done by people with a 7th grade level of education?

Default H-2a visas for temporary agricultural workers

It's not how many jobs do we have that can be done by those with 7th grade educations because we have plenty of opportunity for those jobs; They are called Seasonal Agriculture jobs and are typically associated with illgeal immigration because when you see a newsreel on the topic of illegal immigration it will invariably show an agriculture worker but that is deceptive because there is a underused LEGAL visa program for migrant workers to fulfill that demand and it is call the H-2A VISAS FOR TEMPORARY AGRICULTURAL WORKERS

Under this immigration scheme the worker receives reimbursed travel expenses to and from the US by the employer, three meals per day, shelter, transportation to and from housing to the work site and a guaranteed number of work hours. If the employer fails to work them according to the contract, the workers are entitled to 3/4 of what was promised to them! Medical care is also provided although not specifically in the contract because the communities who have large agriculture communities of migrant workers have non profit medical care for them, more than they can expect in their native countries.

A survey by National Agricultural Workers revealed 2/3 of this worker class earning less than 10,000 per year which means 1/3 earn in excess of $10,000 per year and a majority receive food stamps. Because 77% are Mexican Nationals where the median annual income is $7,870 and because it is seasonal work - they earn that in a year but they don't work the entire year they go home (or they are supposed to go home).

40% own homes in their country and 14% here in the US! Compare that rate of home ownership of migrant farm workers to native born Hispanic Americans whose rate of home ownership in 2008 was 52.8% and one could argue that the H2A Visa Program is working well for these low paid and lowly educated Mexican nationals and they seem to be faring better than the American born Hispanics. ! BTW - the NAWS revealed that this category of worker had less than 6th grade education

A better question to ask is; How many of those 13 million illegals immigrants are taking good paying jobs like roofers , flooring installation, drywall installers, masonry and painting work from Americans with little education? Except in regions rife with illegal workers all of these jobs pay wages that can support a family in America $15 - $25 per hour. The answer is ALL of them because they are here without permission!

Recall that there is a very legal means for temporary work visa in America for the purpose of working low pay seasonal jobs like in the agriculture field and there is also schemes for highly educated immigrants too. Those who are here illegally is because they like Americans don't want the low paying jobs and aren't qualified for the high paying jobs; they come for NON SEASONAL blue collar work that pays better and as a result they compete head to head with non foreign born Hispanics and Blacks. The very people beholden to the Democrat party and it is this party that wants to give 13,000,000 illegal aliens legal status!

It is not the responsibility of the American government to create a middle class in Mexico, or even the US for that matter it is however America's responsibility to protect her citizens from Invaders both Foreign and Domestic and yes Economic invaders are still still invaders!
