HIALEAH GARDENS (CBS4) ― The man who kidnapped two young Homestead girls, prompting a statewide Amber Alert, could spend the rest of his life in police custody.
Lindoro Alvarado pleaded guilty Tuesday to a slew of kidnapping and sexual assault charges. Under a plea deal, he will serve 22 years in prison
Alvarado, an undocumented worker from Mexico, was renting a room from a Homestead mother in March 2008 when he whisked away two daughters, ages 3 and 6, police said.
Prosecutors said he sexually assaulted the older girl in a wooded area. The three were spotted hours later walking in Hialeah Gardens.
After his prison term, the 54-year-old faces 20 years probation and civil commitment to a facility for dangerous sexual predators.
The deal, struck in agreement with the family and Miami-Dade police, will also spare the older girl from the ordeal of testifying at trial, according to Assistant State Attorney Laura Adams.

The victim and a 6-year-old girl were playing in the parking lot at 13980 Florida Blvd. Arriaga — also accused in the affidavit of being an illegal immigrant — allegedly grabbed the boy from behind, covered the boy’s mouth and carried him 50 feet across the parking lot. The affidavit says Arriaga told the boy he was in trouble and was about to be punished.
The boy’s playmate helped him to escape by kicking and hitting Arriaga, the document says. The boy alerted his father about the incident and the father alerted the Sheriff’s Office.

I haven't been following this thread but I just read about that teenaged girl killed in Albuquerque in the news.
It's incredible that anyone with any kind of past or inability to get a job can simply come into this country do do whatever it is they want to do include kill American kids.
Most countries have immigration laws for a very good reason. We're fools to allow this to go on.
It would be like smiling to the bank...in this case to the border with no jail time and a quick turnaround in a few days.
Still think that caning might be a good idea like they do in Singapore to offenders as a deterrent.
Physical punishment needs to be done instead of a lecture and a FINE of $$$$...wait a minute...the money is important...forget the punishment and just fine them some $$$$.

Andres Nava-Maldonado, 41, has been charged with capital murder.
The gunman who shot and killed an undercover police officer during a Tuesday night sting operation was an illegal immigrant who had been picked up by the U.S. Border Patrol in El Paso and allowed to return home to Mexico 10 years ago.
Municipal records also show that Roberto Pedroza Carrillo, 37, had been stopped and ticketed by the Houston Police Department at least four times since 2002, most recently last November. In 2002, a warrant was issued for Carrillo after he failed to appear in court on a speeding ticket, but the case was resolved when he paid the fine.
But because he never was arrested and fingerprinted in Houston, there was no way for ticketing officers to know he was here illegally.
The fact that this officer died at the hands of a murderer who should never have been in this country, makes it that much more tragic.
