Ok, enough already! This man is not a citizen of this country, and should not expect to benefit from a tax-funded rehabilitation program. He should take his settlement and return to Mexico. I'm sure they have many nice facilities.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- An appellate court has barred illegal immigrants from a state rehabilitation program for people who have suffered brain or spinal cord injuries.

The 1st District Court of Appeal on Monday reversed an administrative law judge's ruling that had been appealed by the state.

The decision came in the case of Miguel Mora Rodriguez, a Mexican citizen now living in Hardee County. He was injured when the vehicle he was riding in was struck by a drunken driver.

His lawyer, JoNel Newman, says the appellate ruling was narrowly drawn to cover only the brain and spinal cord program. She says her client received a small settlement and is ambulatory but could benefit from rehabilitation.

Her client needs to GO HOME and use his settlement money to pay for rehabilitation in his OWN country. I'm sure Mexico will take good care of him.

There are many programs that are covered by donations. To hold tax payers at gunpoint for this is just wrong. The Countries of these people need to become accountable.

These Countries view the US as a global social service.

Well, this shows the importance of residing in a country legally. Think of it this way....if I were living/working illegally in an EU country and was in a car accident -- beyond emergency health care I would be out of luck. In fact, once I was out of the hospital I believe I would get a free ticket home. Certainly not government health care services.
This gentleman....I feel sorry that he was in an accident, but really whatever settlement money he received will no doubt stretch a lot further in Mexico then it could ever in Florida.

Yet the constant list of Americans hit by DUI Illegal Aliens never get off the crime page, certainly not headline news.

Exactly! This past November, my husband and I were in Long Island, NY. A female cab driver and her female passenger were broadsided by a drunk illegal and both women were killed leaving behind children. Needless to say, it was in their papers for about 2-days. However, any crimes against immigrants (especially illegals) was absolutely blasted on the t.v. news and front page of newspapers day after day.
