NCLR exhorts the passage of a stimulus bill that includes job-training and adult education initiatives that give limited-English-proficient workers and farmworkers the skills they need to compete in the faltering economy. Practical skill sets are vital to moving the dial on Latino employment and creating a comprehensively capable workforce.

Of further concern to NCLR is the recently added requirement in the House bill calling for a massive expansion of E-Verify, a flawed employment verification system. Given E-Verify’s track record of discriminating against Latino workers—immigrant and U.S. citizen alike—this costly measure threatens to drive up Latino unemployment rates even further.

“Hispanic workers will continue to drive the growth of the labor force in the coming decades,” Murguía continued. “How Latinos recover from this recession is of both immediate and long-term importance to our economy. A well-targeted economic stimulus bill will be a step in the right direction for America.”

Boy Janet is losing it. It has been researched and proven that E-Verify is 99.6% effective in halting the employment of illegal aliens in this country. Essentially, she is demanding in all her racist glory that we fork over more money to help mexicans demolish what's left of America.

If she was really that concerned about her people, Janet would fork over that 10M La Raza received as a reward for assisting our treasonous government in this invasion from SOB.

Am I the only one who smells the delusional desperation of "the Race" through their computer screen?

For a while now I have wondered if there is a brainwashing academy somewhere in mexico.

The more I read, the more I am coming to the conclusion that the: ethnocentric racists, delusional DREAMies and the rest of the illegal aliens have lost touch with reality. The fact that they are being assisted by the corporate masters and those in our government who give them millions of our tax dollars to enable this type of BS to continue is totally insane.

Clearly, only those with a hidden agenda oppose E-Verify.

Some quick facts:
Quote:
Overall accuracy of E-Verify as of first half of 2007: 99.5 percent
Employees authorized within the first 24 hours as of first half of 2007: 94.2 percent

93 percent are verified instantly — within five seconds.
1.2 percent are verified after an electronic, 24-hour USCIS check without any notification to the employee.4
Employees who received a mismatch as of the first half of 2007: 5.8 percent
5.1 percent from SSA
0.7 percent from USCIS5

Initial mismatches that must take action to obtain work authorization: 0.5 percent of mployees
0.4 are U.S. Citizens
0.1 percent are non-citizens

Initial mismatches later confirmed as work-authorized: 0.5 percent
0.4 percent are U.S. citizens
0.1 percent are non-citizens8

Employees not confirmed as work-authorized by E-Verify: 5.3 percent of employees "receive a final non-confirmation response because they are either not authorized to work in the United States, did not know that they had the opportunity to challenge an initial mismatch (or TNC), or choose not to follow the necessary procedures to prove work authorization after receiving an initial mismatch."

Social Security number duplicates: Duplicate SSNs were found more than twice in 21.9 percent of all transactions, 20.4 percent among those listed as U.S. citizens and 31.0 percent among non-citizens. 10

Rooting out bad identities: In FY 2007, E-Verify received about three million queries, of which 157,000 were found to be unauthorized to work despite having previously evaded the paper version of the I-9 process, thus stopping their illegal employment.

Rooting out document fraud: According to DHS, several hundred instances of document fraud have been detected by DHS's fraud unit. This number should grow as analysis gets more sophisticated.

Exactly. They realize that if E-Verify becomes mandatory in the US, their very lucrative con game will come to a screeching halt. I'm sure they don't like the idea of being forced to find real jobs, especially during an economic down turn.

ummm whoppers

Do they make them this early? So check out this article. We stopped by there for eats and the news crews were there. I watched one guy have to search out someone to interview who spoke English. E-verify would have whittled away those. I wonder how many stolen ss numbers were present.

Restaurant employees at Old Town face layoffs
I believe you can special order them for breakfast. The last Burger King I entered had a majority spanish speaking staff. Apparently, only the supervisor spoke English. The same applies to McDonalds.

Since English and hand washing are now optional these days, I no longer frequent restaurants that don't have an American staff.

To be fair, it is good that job training is provided. What's wrong with this?
