Agreed. It is definitely great news. I must admit I am still holding out hope for US military enforcement.
I'm not so convinced. Troops are not law enforcement officers. Infantry are trained for the purposes of conducting war, not patrolling borders. I can imagine them in a support/logistics role, but not on the border itself. I think the job of securing borders is best left to those who are trained to do so. A recruitment of more CBP and DEA agents would be a wiser decision, IMO.

Remember though that illegal aliens crossing our borders is a de facto invasion and the cold reality is that most of the problem is with Mexico, not Canada.

Really? Our troops are trained to patrol the borders of foreign nations; so why should they not be equipped to patrol the borders of their own country? The decades of the U.S. patrolling the border between North and South Korea comes to mind.
Now if they would just hire me when I apply on that website we'll be in good shape. Never fear ladies and gents. Capt. J Arp here to protect the borders!
Will these new hires be American citizens? Will they be willing to DO the work? I HOPE we won't have to replace them with less expensive staff, should the economy go bad. I can only IMAGINE where that may lead....

That’s the 2 million dollar question. I have a bad feeling that greed will ultimately prevail, and U.S. citizens will once again be left out in the cold.

Let's see here..we need a large pool of people to fill these jobs...they MUST be conversant in Spanish....we want them to work HARD....and we don't want to go overboard on the 'wage and benefit package'.....so what do we do?...hmmmmmm...I'm thinking
