Americans were open hearted and generous and welcomed immigrants who wished for the American dream. Over time, the quality and purpose of immigrants changed. When our instincts warned us of danger, most ignored them and chided themselves or others for being selfish and intolerant.
When jobs became tight, resources limited, cities overcrowded, and services depleted, our ‘representatives’ continued to dilute our citizenry with illegal aliens having no regard for our nation, history or people.

Cancer is not always fatal. Many times, survivors come back from the brink, better for having survived and endured, renewed enough to appreciate the blessings bestowed upon them. America has virulent cancer but national pride is the cure.

Interesting but very doom and gloom which to me is not very American. Americans are individualistic and for the most part optimistic. And I thought I was a cynic.
Only thing overlooked is that Globalism is what founded and built this country and continues to keep it going through good times and bad. Great points on our failure in education and failing to prepare a children to compete in a globalized world.
What we suffer from now is not immigration in on itself. We suffer from the cancer of self absorbed and corrupt CEOs and a government that verbalizes what we want to here but act to the contrary.
We need a double-dose of Border Patrol chemo along with some surgery by employer sanctions. Add some ICE to the wound to prevent infection by follow up scab labor.

I think it's been the wrong kind of globalism and that's the reason for the coming collapse of the global economy.
It's been globalism based on greed and exploitation. Everything has been about dirt cheap labor and out-of-control American consumerism. You can't have a large number of countries all trying to progress on American consumerism especially when American labor is not wanted. Unemployed Americans cannot support so many economies.
Globalism is good when it comes to sharing foods and needed technology. If coffee beans can't be grown in the USA then globalist trade gets us coffee. It should not be all about ridding jobs from the USA and expecting Americans to continue buying on credit.
