Wikipedia actually is not farcical...most of the information is consistent with JSTOR or any other resource. A good way to determine whether or not wikipedia will work is by checking out the footnotes as well as further reading. Consider it a cliff notes of all the sources. I personally did not have the time to gather information... so you can read the foot notes and further yourself.

It is sad that they are leaving on such an sour note, but Americans in Saudi did have really good. Free housing, tax free income, awesome benefits, and months of paid vacation...and that was for the teachers.
I found the link that you posted very interesting and more along the lines of what I was hoping to see. If I were a teacher, it sounds like Saudi would be a great option. There were a lot of handsome Saudi men in the neighborhood I grew up in. The Saudis and blacks all got along quite well and that was back in the 60's.

As for Wiki, seriously it is NOT a reputable source. Anyone can go in and change it to state whatever they wish and pass if off as fact rather than fiction.

Thanks for the link.

It's way past time to get back to basics and only allow those who are educated and skilled to immigrate legally to the US. Everybody else needs to either be sent home or stay home.
I can see it now. PhDs and masters of all sorts of trades fighting and stumbling over one another to apply for fast food jobs in order to "serve it your way" oh soooo "finger likin' good".

Rightwingers talk about this as if "Hispanics are taking America's money away to other countries"

Why doesn't anybody talk about the work that those immigrants provided to improve the US? (That's how they got their money)

Repeat after me:

Legal immigrants are welcome here.

Illegal aliens are criminals and need to leave immediately.

A rightwinger replied to me by completely ignoring the point I made and moving to another point.

Your comment has nothing to do with what I said.

Trouble is that illegals are draining the social services in many states. The high cost of cheap labor as Doug McIntyre says.

OK, let's talk about it. Immigrants provided work, and that work helped the US, and that was fine, because they immigrated here legally.

Illegal immigrants also provided work, which helped their employers, while damaging the wage scale...so it was no 'favor' to us. Nevertheless, by their own choice, these illegals did work; and they did get paid; that is the extent of their "claim" on the US. The wages they earned while here, they're allowed to keep. That has nothing to do with their right to remain here in the future. You want to "thank" illegals for 'helping us'? OK, fine...how about they 'thank' US, for the time they were allowed to live here and work here? Whatever that time was, it was nothing we 'owed' them...it was done by their choice; there's no implied 'rights' here at all.

Illegals have no more "claim" to remain in the US, than a legal worker has a "claim" to live on his employer's premises. When the work is done, he gets paid; then he's required to leave.

So now, 'somebody talked about it'. OK?....

That's why the problem comes from "Employers that hire illegals"

Nobody would leave their country if they know that they won't find jobs,
so the problem is the companies and people that hire them.

Well fine! I take it you support the raids by ICE and the employer sanctions.
