They don't only come for jobs. The wall should help stop the pregnant ones, at least if they're 8-9 months along. They come to steal cars in border towns. They come loaded with drugs, and the wall should help stop some of that too.

Of course the wall shouldn't be the only thing stopping them. If you remember Silvestre Reyes himself built fences as part of his Operation Blockade and Hold the Line. He was at one time for border control, but something happened when he arrived in Washington DC.

Here's a song for you while you worry about the wall. Apparently the only fence you seem to think doesn't work. Or why do so many people have fences around backyards, and schools, and prisons, and parks, and zoos?

Fences don't serve to keep out small numbers of dedicated, armed, focused professionals; we don't build fence to keep out Mafia members, or drug smugglers, or suicidal terrorists.

Fences are built to keep out millions of UNARMED, casual trespassers; and at THAT purpose, they are pretty cost-effective, frequently used, and have a good track record. Once we get a handle in the millions of casual 'walk-ins' (many of whom will NOT want to go up against a high-tech fence') THEN we can turn our attention, by OTHER means, to deal with the Mafiosi, the Narcotraficantes, and the 'jihadists'.

Fences work at what they're designed for...keeping out casual 'civilians', not determined professionals.

As you stated.

And said fence will slow down even the armed drug runners to the point that our LE agencies can intercept and take them down.

the fence, highly highly effective. san ysidro is no longer "the gate" formerly the jump off for 80% of all american illegal immigration. fence does not prevent it--- slows down and is very effective. dont hire them?? just say no was not working. interesting as the effect of the fence kick in --no disrespect intended however, the arguments for its immediate termination get more far fetched. what has russia and italy have to do with tiajuana.

Of course....and even a PARTIAL fence is better than none. A GOOD 100-mile fence with a 10-mile gap, would concentrate traffic toward the 'gap'...where it could be dealt with.

Elementary human nature, with a little geography on the side..

"Far fetched" is right..."Don't build a fence, because it won't work ?" Hardly;....I think it's MORE like "Don't build the fence, because it WILL work, and I don't WANT that to happen"....

well the determined professionals are the ones that we should worry its always the civil world....that creates truthfully the greateast harm...
but what would you know about that...
and what does russia and italy have to do with tijuana..??see you dont understand....

when a lot of sycilans arrive into america...they brought their mafia mentality..and with that they establish connections and made cosa nostra into an international...professional narcos....and i would bet anything that those are the ones that started the cartels with columba...and woke mexico to be what it is...

now russia..when the soviet union broke up...you had all those
ex-kgb smuggling weapons..laundering money from maine to florida..my friend...and no stupid wall really stop them...

and if the walls work so well...how come around 60 percent of the illegals come from mexico...where do the other 40% come from..let me tell..you..
vietnam, chinese, colimbians, peruvians, easter eurpeans...come
thru airports...and a lot overstay their visas....

What is your point?

The border fortifications are indeed cutting down the number of illegals coming into the USA---------and, not all of the border crossers from Mexico are citizens of that nation.

Face it: just eliminating the 'low hanging fruit' helps immensely.
