Default Bill would crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants

A Senate committee agreed this morning to print a bill that would crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants. The bill’s sponsor, Sen. Mike Jorgenson, R-Hayden Lake, told the Senate State Affairs Committee that the measure is a “knock off” of a law that took effect in Arizona last year that requires businesses in that state to use a federal computer system to verify workers’ legal status or else face penalties if they hire illegal immigrants.
“What this bill is about is forcing employers to hire legal citizens only,” he said. “This is about enforcing the law.

Fantastic.

I wonder how long it'll be before La Raza, MALDEF, ACLU, MEChA, LULAC and others start protesting against that "racist/xenophobic/anti-Hispanic/anti-Mexican" bill that was only written to discriminate against "their people".

It's a good thing that they'll have a really difficult time using their "jobs Americans won't do" excuse at this point.

Agreed. We can only hope that Obama didn't figure out a way to continue funding any of the above with our tax dollars.

Laws have never been the problem...its about enforcing them....
since the last decade...WE..WE...WE..WE.
SUPPOSLY MUST HAVE FINED THEM FOR 10,000 DOLLARS PER ILLEGAL..
but guess

what?no fines...again...is not about putting more laws..on top of laws...
its about enforcing them...
now, and maybe its the politicians tactics to really just put the problem...
out there and get more attention from the pro-amnesty....

truelly we have a cancer from your point of view...
we want to grow...benefiting the locals...the natives...I agree...
but the problem is not the illegals...ITS US...has always been us...
so yeah lets yank...20 or even more people from the country....

and then when our politicians the rich see the increment on wages that were supress..

and we...thinking we have found the golden egg..."
money is just going to flow out....running to hired foreigners
to keep feeding us..toyotas...cement..gadgets...clothes..
etc..etc...
youll really need to analyse more
then just blurt out...
"get out" leeches...

I thought it was already against the law to hire illegal aliens. Why do politicians always feel the need to pass more laws when we just need to enforce existing laws???

Well, not all of the old laws were effective. For instance, of course, it's illegal to hire illegals, but employers were claiming that they didn't know whether their employees were illegal or not because the employees all had documentation and fake SSNs. So E-verify was born because of the necessity of checking the authenticity of an employee's SSN. Voila. Employers now had one less excuse for hiring illegals.
