"This is hell. Food is disgusting, mostly rotten, not even my dogs at home would eat this, we feel humiliated, I need to support my kids and don't know what to do," says a Mexican detainee in his 30s. He admits, though, that prisons in Mexico are worse.

He was arrested for possession of marijuana and will probably end up being deported to Mexico after serving his term, despite claiming to have been living in the US since he was a teenager and having American children.

"It's freezing at night, there are mice everywhere, we have nothing to do here, no religion, no activities, nothing," adds another man from Guatemala.

"Three days ago they even put that up," he says pointing to a fence surrounding a small rectangular field along the prison wall.

BBC NEWS | Americas | Meet America's 'toughest sheriff'

Awe poor lil girly punks. They sound disappointed that Arpaioland is not the Club Fed they heard all of those warm and fuzzy stories about from other illegal aliens. No cable tv, no exercise yard or freedom to continue their crime wave in Arpaio's jail.

Remember: I actually met Sheriff Joe about 15 years ago and I have an autographed copy of his book America's Toughest Sheriff.

He is one dude I would not wish to cross.

Yet they're whining. I've said it more than a few times. The conditions of our jails are better than the conditions the majority of them live under as "free" individuals in their own countries.

That is primarily why the mexican government drew up maps and encouraged them to come here. Additionally, they have more mexican consulates in the US than any other country. To date there are 40 and counting, because they don't want them to have any reason to find their way home.

Now that the party is over, the mexican government is whining and complaining about not having the resources to accomodate the return of their tax draining nationals. I suppose it never occurred to them that neither do we and that we don't want them here either.
